Ever since meeting the human in the park, Connor had spent quite a bit of time with Victor. It was a little tricky with him helping Hank at work, and helping Hank to live more healthily, but he was able to meet up with the human fairly frequently. He’d discovered that he enjoyed painting, even if he wasn’t too sure what he was doing half the time, but Hank had showed him an old show with a man named Bob Ross, and that helped.
It was on March 27th at 19:24 that he’d first noticed it. He and Victor had been at a cafe, chatting about their days, and Victor had laughed at something he’d said when he’d felt a strange feeling in his chest. At first he’d thought it was something wrong with his thirium pump regulator, but one subtle diagnostic later had revealed nothing to be wrong. He was still curious, but then Victor was talking again, and he focused on that instead.
Since then, he’d felt the strange sensation several more times, but when trying to connect the dots, he’d come to notice they only happened when he was around Victor. Did that have significance, or was that simply a coincidence?
Today, he was at the same little cafe with Victor, happily listening to his friend talk while they doodled. It hadn’t been long after he’d met Victor that he’d bought a sketchbook for himself, finding the act of doodling to be just as comforting and relaxing as playing with his coin at times. Besides, it gave him something to do when Hank wasn’t feeling particularly talkative at work or at home.
