Suzy was never fond of mornings, yet on this particularly blinding daybreak, she found herself roaming the silent streets with remarkable energy. She was still in her clothes from the night before and hadn't caught a wink of sleep, but she moved with the vitality that was usually attributed to more than three coffees. 

Maybe she hadn't given the early morning enough credit -- it was quiet out, and for the first time in ages, her mind felt clear. Peaceful, despite the residual buzz from earlier in the night. Fatigue gradually worked its way to her limbs and she settled for dipping in a nearby cafe for something to eat. She couldn't remember the last time she'd actually had breakfast food at the appropriate hour.

Dearest Ailee,

It’s been a while since we’ve spoken, hasn’t it? You were gone for a while—don’t think I didn’t notice. You were always such a comfort to have around; I haven’t seen you in a while but before you left, you wore a sad look in your eyes. I can only hope that now that look is gone and is replaced with a twinkle. Your eyes were always so beautiful, as is the rest of you. No matter how long we may be apart from each other, remember that you’ll always have a friend in me. I know that I’m more of a ghost than anything, always floating around and never saying a word but if you need me, don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll be there. I wanted to put this in writing so that you’ll be reminded of it forever.

 I fear that if you, and everyone else for that matter, come too close, you’ll be disappointed that the person you built up in your head isn’t me. I’m not a big shot fancy writer that everyone dotes on because I have the ability to put together creative sentence structures, glittered with metaphors and similes. I’m just a guy who sometimes feels unlucky to see tomorrow come—and that’s why people aren’t allowed to come too close to me.

Kris had been up all night reading about exorcisms, particularly live accounts of exorcisms. He felt that sense of paranoia that someone was watching him itching the back of his neck that caused him to sink down underneath his covers, his eyes peeking out into the darkness. He knew no one was there, but one too many exorcisms can make anyone believe there was a demon in the room—needless to say, when he felt Ailee’s hand touch his arm due to her movement in her sleep, he let out a loud yelp and found himself jumping off of the bed and onto the floor. “Kris!" Ailee’s alarmed voice came as she leaned over his side of the bed to look on the floor where he lay, clutching his pounding heart. “What’s wrong?"

"D-don’t do that!" he stammered, staring up at her, his dark circles worsening with his fear. 

"Don’t scream!" she shot back, reaching out to grab his hand to help him up. He allowed her to get him back on his feet, feeling himself numbly crawl back into bed. “You scared me," Ailee murmured softly once he had laid down, allowing her head to drop on his chest. She pulled the covers up the both of them as Kris tried to catch his breath from his sudden fright, closing his eyes. “Why were you so freaked out?"

"Exorcisms. That’s why."

You annoy me. You're dense and if I didn't like you, I would suggest you're unfit to work and possibly stupid. But no, I don't think that. You are.. pretty, and at times very bubbly. I'm glad you make Jieun happy, not many people can do that and would prefer to do the opposite since she has her.. moments. But you understand her, from a brothers point of view it proves to be awfully.. endearing, I suppose.

Luhan and I were talking about this but.. I think you're one of the most beautiful women in IX. You have a lovely smile that's used often, especially in such a place where darkness is second nature. I'm glad my sister is surrounded by those who share her ditzy nature but know when to smile when there is a storm approaching.

Take care of her and yourself. You put a lot of trust in me, I'm not sure why you do that or why you even spoke to me/skyped with me, but.. In time, perhaps I'd show the same sort of attitude with you too.

P.S, you're a pervert.

I suppose it's not.. directly linked to him but he's afraid that one day, Amy will ditch Jieun at the time she needs her the most. His sister and the people she asscioates with is something he worries about because he is aware Jieun was bullied as a child, so those who talk to her and say they're 'friends' are kept under Jonghyun's sharp eye. If Ailee left Jieun, he would never speak to her again because his sister is one of his major priorities regardless of if they argue or not.
