have i ever mentioned that epic is my favourite sa allegory.

he was forced into non-consensual experimentation from a very young age. he had to learn to sit still, not argue, not speak, not fight back, be good. just to survive this cruel man that he had to call a father. he was told over and over again that he’s not a person, just a thing to be used. this exploitation of his body didn’t stop when he became an adult, it continued until gester disintegrated.

his past sets him up for dangerous and very similar situations. he’s at risk of being exploited in the same way he was before, even after his au. my favorite example of this is epic getting together with sci. sci starts with (mostly) consensual experimentation. but because epic is just soooo good for him, sci starts to take everything further and further without permission, he begins to exploit and abuse the fact that epic stays so still and quiet. praising him for how good he is. and because of epic not fully understanding that this isn’t okay or normal, he doesn’t tell sci to stop or to leave him alone, he just sits there and dissociates. like a good little thing.
