Rune i need all the prince Scott AU's. Prince Scott whose only friend was the royal guards son. Prince Scott and Stiles sneaking out because Scott was never allowed outside the castle. Them being upset but not really knowing why when they find out Scott had been arranged to marry somebody. Stiles leaves Scott because he'll never be good enough for the prince. Scott not getting married running away finding Stiles and they try to live in secret.

How long do they last out on their own? It’s not like theycan stay in the Kingdom, Scott’s face is stamped on the money and someone isgoing to find them. Asking another kingdom to take them in might put everyonein the middle of a war if someone levels accusations that they kidnapped theprince.

Better to run in the middle of the night with the fastesthorses in the stable and a fist full of gold coins. Better still to bookpassage on a ship heading out into the unknown. It’s reckless and dangerous,but Scott grew up in the royal court where the world watched him and waited tostab him in the back to take the crown.

What happens next? Do they strike out as young sailors androgue pirates? Do they set up their own paradise on some island and build a newcity with all the outcasts? Or does the guilt and responsibility finally forceScott to go back and fulfill his duty because if he doesn’t take care of hispeople, who will?

Consider Space Pirate Stiles running from the law on the edges of civilized space, and young Imperial Law Officer Scott following him. Scott followed in his father's footsteps to support the empire, but secretly he feels much of the violence inherent in bringing the systems in line could (should) have been avoided. When he gets sent to patrol the outer ranges it feels like exile, but then he meets Stiles and then end up in a wild chase that shows Scott just how much space there is out here.

It’s more of a game than anything and Scott knows he shouldn’t enjoy it as much as he does. It’s his job to bring order to the galaxy and to stop the people who flaunt the law to hurt people and chip away at the system that keeps them all safe. But there’s something exhilarating about chasing this criminal through the far-flung systems at the edge of the galaxy where the Empire barely has a reach. Stiles leaves him taunting messages as bait, luring him on and Scott doesn’t know if this is a trap or if Stiles enjoys the chase as much as he does.

He catches up eventually, Scott’s good at his job and Stiles can’t evade him forever. Scott manages to trick the pirate off his ship with some brilliant plan, hauling him back to the galactic core to stand trial. He misses being out on the rim, but this was what he’d been working towards. He can finally go home again, he could be accepted, he proved himself! But everything that’s waiting for him back at the core is a stiff officer’s uniform and a ceremonial job.

It’s a long trip back and Stiles is a sarcastic little asshole the entire time. It probably should have annoyed Scott more, but he found that the pirate was weirdly charming and he always liked the little knot of excitement that that formed whenever Stiles challenged him. The pirate wasn’t wrong, Stiles had a knack of finding all of Scott’s weaknesses and going back felt like shutting himself back in a cage after the things they’d seen, but it was his responsibility. He couldn’t just turn his back on everything and even if Stiles could make him laugh like no one else could. 

Their ship was small and it wouldn’t make sense to keep Stiles bound for the months it would take to get back. Scott had him locked in the tiny brig for a while, but during the waking hours when he could keep a close eye on his prisoner, he let Stiles out. It was safe enough, there wasn’t enough room for subterfuge with Scott watching. But their snarky rapport turned into something more and Scott stopped locking Stiles up when he found a better use for the pirate’s hands.

The closer they get to home, the more Scott wishes they could just turn the ship around. He promises that he’ll speak to the tribunal and make the case for leniency. Stiles might have been a criminal, but he wasn’t a murderer. That had to mean something. It doesn’t work though, no one is interested in listening to the words of a junior officer who clearly let himself get seduced by a criminal. What was supposed to be Scott’s triumphant return is marred with scandal, and Stiles is locked away.

It’s only luck that Scott finds Stiles’s crew before they break into the Imperial prison with some half-baked rescue plan. Malia is leading the charge with Kira and Lydia, and they’re not sure if they trust Scott with his new plans for getting Stiles free or if he’s just trying to capture them all, but there’s no better alternative. It works, but barely, the team springing Stiles (and a flood of other political prisoners the Empire had unfairly locked away) and they run, their illegally modified ship so much faster than anything the Empire issues its officers.

The universe is wide open for them and Scott’s so ready to take it. Real freedom for once where he doesn’t have to hold his tongue and support a political system based on violently crushing all opposition. He can choose his own path now, explore everything in the galaxy and he wants to see it all. Stiles just laughs and promises to show him things he’d never believe were real.

Neither one of them know that the Empire hasn’t taken the betrayal well and has dispatched their elite Alpha Pack forces to bring them both back.

scott would be the biggest trekkie ever!!!! i need a star trek au stat!!! he'd probably be so excited about the new star trek tv show :)

Star Trek just has so much hope, how could Scott not love it? It’s a group of space nerds going out to try and make friends with aliens, that’s PERFECT! I think that Captain Picard is his favorite, but he loves the cheesy bravery of Kirk and the emotional heart of Sisko and Janeway’s unwavering bravery and even Archer’s diplomacy. He always feels drawn do the leaders who are trying to protect their crew when things seem impossible, but are also  the ambassadors on this mission of peace. He can’t remember all the half written fanfic he has stashed in old notebooks about his self-insert Original Character getting stuck on the holodeck and having to face off against Moriarty. (Or even some naughty holodeck inspired Star Trek smut no one will ever see.) >__>

I think he’d be SO excited for the new Star Trek movie. In the reboot, his favorite characters are definitely Uhura and Sulu, and he’s planning on dressing up during the premiere. Stiles is going to be so scandalized for about 3 minutes for joining in because it’s really easy to convince Stiles to dress up in costumes for just about any occasion.

Au where Scott watched Star Wars forever and a day ago but he didn't like it so he plays dumb instead of confessing.

Scott doesn’t want to hurt Stiles’s feelings, even though he thought the movies were boring. The old ones were just okay but the prequels were awful and it’s hard to sit through Stiles gushing about Star Wars like it was the best movies of all time. He’s seen the whole epic battle thing before. He appreciates that the heroes were likable, but it’s just such a downer all the time, and pretty racist. (Not that Stiles ever noticed). But he never says a word because Stiles loves it, why would Scott purposely ruin a thing his best friend likes so much? So he just smiles and pretends he hasn’t seen it and just enjoys the way Stiles gushes about it because it’s nice to watch him be so passionate about something.

He’d never admit it, but Scott actually much prefers Star Trek, especially TNG. Gene Roddenberry’s hopeful future scifi is exactly what he needs. A future where human beings have united together and the most important driving force isn’t colonialism or violence, but exploration and diplomacy. Where human beings just want to learn and have adventures. Technology is there to help them instead of being the downfall of the planet, there’s no capitalism getting in the way, and even if they have to use violence, it’s always as a last resort. When sometimes it’s hard to know if they’ll all live to the end of the week, it’s nice to think about a time where the future will be brighter.
