What do you think about the theory that hanzo's new skin is like an ovw uniform, cuz the last name printed on it and also the green looks like the same green tech genji has 👀 also his sleeve says "everyone" (皆中) and I can't for the life of me figure out Why it says that, idk if you can help shed light on it
Hanzo is the biggest dweeb and I love him so much
I’ve seen 3 theories so far about the new skin: - It’s Hanzo’s Overwatch gear - bc of the focus on archery and the skin not having any flavored text with it, it might be a scrapped summer skin from last year since 2020 was supposed to have the Olympic Games in Tokyo - it’s a lore skin, but it’s Hanzo post-Casual due to it looking like he’s let his undercut grow back in bc if u look
apart from having more grey, the hairline follows Casual and u can still see where it’s kinda shaved and follows Casual’s look
but in Classic that’s covered
and tbh? I feel like I can be convinced for any of those as things stand rn.
My personal headcanon is that this is the in-between of Hanzo post-Dragons and Casual. Genji is the biggest catalyst for Hanzo to change what he’s doing, but now that we have Kanezaka in play, I think things can get a lot more interesting. Maybe he meets Asa again, maybe she’s the Final push.
I think it being OW gear is the strongest argument bc of the orange and white coloring. I thought at first that maybe it was gonna symbolize something for the foxes from Kanezaka, but now that we’ve seen the front of it and have the name on it..
I think it’s really interesting if it does turn out to be a lore skin. There’d be no explanation other than the green being absolutely purposeful seeing how Blizz likes to color code Hanzo with his blue, and Genji with his green respectfully. It’s feels weird to even see Hanzo in green, but I’d have to think it’s an homage to Genji.
However, my one thought about Hanzo joining OW though is that I didn’t think he ever would (kinda like whatever McCree is doing) or at least, not so soon. After being controlled by the Shimada clan for 28 years, and the further 10 spent in grief ultimately bc of the Elders, I didn’t think he’d want to align himself with another organization so soon. Granted Hanzo already knows Talon is bad, but even telling Doomfist that he wants to, ‘find his own path’ gives me vibes that he’s at least gonna spend some time on self-care and (HOPEFULLY MORE POSITIVE) self-reflection before his healing arc can Really begin.
I can honestly also see Blizz just pulling the popular fanon and have Hanzo join OW under the pretenses that he’s only there as a favor to Genji and he tries to redeem himself through his actions that way.
