Mercedes launched the 2026 S-Class facelift in India
The 2026 Mercedes S-Class facelift just launched in India and there's a lot to talk about.
Mercedes has brought the updated S-Class to India today, and this is not just a minor refresh. There are some real changes here that make it a meaningful upgrade over the older model.
At an expected price of ₹2 to ₹2.40 crore, the biggest update this time is the PHEV variant: S 450e. It runs on petrol and electric together and gives about 100km on pure electric. If you drive mostly in the city, you could genuinely go days without stopping at a petrol pump. For a luxury sedan in this price range, that's actually a practical advantage, not just a marketing point.
Dashboard has been completely redone. There is one big seamless screen running across the front, which looks very different from the older model. The voice assistant now connects with ChatGPT, Gemini and Bing at the same time, so it is actually useful when you talk to it rather than just being there for show.
On the safety side, it gets Level 3 ADAS, which is still not that common in India. The headlights light up 600 metres ahead, which makes a real difference on dark highways. And since the car supports over-the-air updates, it keeps improving after you buy it; you are not stuck with what it launched with.
Exterior changes are subtle since it is a facelift, but there is a new grille, updated lights and enough small touches that it does not look like the same car from a distance.
