the brunette had been in a rush as she left the coffee shop. as she turned out the door her right shoulder collided with the person walking down the street in the opposite direction. her coffee almost falling from her hand in the moment as she silently cursed at herself. “i’m sorry, i should have been paying attention more.”

paris often got so engrossed in her studies, that the rest of the world fell away. her mind SWIRLED with medical terminology and meticulously drawn diagrams, pen scribbling furiously at her notebook. it was as if NOTHING could pull her from her chance when—crash. nearby, something fell. book slammed shut, paris jumped to her feet, face flushed. turning to a stranger, she muttered, “did you hear that?”

a dancer never rests; at least, that’s what rose’s mother used to tell her. she often found herself dancing in public, albeit only slightly. small steps, counting to herself, arm movements. never anything BIG. still, if one didn’t know what she did for a living, she looked odd. but she couldn’t help it, even now in the grocery store. the song overhead ended, leaving her with a few seconds of silence to continue her shopping. she glanced around, locking eyes with an onlooker. “—sorry! am i in your way?”
