After the purge, when Lexa was strong enough to partake in little stints against the Empire, those she aided often gave her presents to show their GRATITUDE. She always insisted she wanted nothing in return, but most times they convinced her to accept the gestures anyway. “ Been waiting for the right time to crack it open. Guess now’s as good as any, huh? “ She smiled wryly at her friend before clinking their glasses.

          all he wanted was a quiet shift. quiet shift and then he could go back to his rack and take off this stupid helmet and sleep off the headache it always gave him. but the radio chatter had different plans. vader. the emperor’s right hand was prone to visiting the fortress, but it was always a bad time when he did. tk-9998 was just going to try to stay out of his--- thud. fuck. which of his fellow troopers had he thrown around now? except, when he found the source of the noise, it wasn’t a trooper. and darth vader was no where to be seen.

Iden STOOD still and tall, doing her best to AVOID in making eye contact with the Inquisitor she heard so much about------a mysterious group working in the shadows, though she’d heard many things about them (perhaps something she may not be able to fully comprehend). Her cheeks flushed upon hearing such praising words, having always been a PERFECTIONIST thanks to her father; his words DRILLED into her head ( “DO NOT GO FOR PERFECTION------WE MUST GO BEYOND IT” ). 

Unfortunately, there weren’t much Iden could even say what others don’t already know. She was there, on that very day when the Death Star became no more. Ears ringing, her heart racing, the smell of smoke filling up in her TIE, and the smell of her own flesh burning------SURVIVING. She will never forgive the Rebellion for what they done and the lives they have all destroyed. But she did her best not to let her anger get the best of her. And at the mention of LORD VADER’S name sent a CHILL down her spine.

“That will not be necessary, ma’am.” Those words immediately left her mouth before she realized it. How unprofessional of her, wishing she had her helmet on to mask away her features like the other.

     a pained groan drags from between his teeth as he struggles to sit up.   his lightsaber lies a few feet away from him;  if only he could reach out with the force...  but there’s a presence too strong.   a presence that’s basically looming over him as cal pulls himself along the ground away from her.   the sheer weight of dark on him strains his ability to reach the force,  strains on the calm that is so quickly slipping between his fingertips.   he’s able to prop himself up on his elbows but with the wound in his leg,  that’s about all he can do.   hazel eyes track the black figure as she approaches,  dark with battle driven anger.     ‘     trilla...     ’     it’s all he can say as blood bubbles up between his lips and he chokes on it,  spilling over ever so slightly.

          she couldn’t identify the sound at first. they were safe, hiding out on a outer rim planet, unsure of what their next move would be. trilla had gone to sleep over an hour before, but merrin was still awake, meditating, trying to find a center among all the chaos of their lives. she was deep in meditation when she first heard the sound, but it barely registered. then it got louder, and louder still. finally, it broke through. it was-- TRILLA! merrin was on her feet in seconds, kneeling next to trilla’s bed moments later, holding her hand and brushing her hair from her face. ‘ cruidad dorrems, wake up. shhh, shh, you’re safe, i’m here. nothing will harm you. ‘

It’s positivity hour!! I went hunting to see what this meme was about so here we go. Let’s be honest, I am not entirely sure where to start because there are just so many things I could say about you?!! Like listen, Shelby. You are one of the kindest, smartest and most creative people I have met on this website. You have been there in tough moments and helped me create one of my characters that I am by now absolutely in love with. Your writing is beautiful and unique, with such effort that it’s a pleasure to read whatever you write. You’ve given Trilla a chance to be more than a smaller character in a video game and added so much to her. You did the same with Amilyn, making Holdo one of my absolute favorite characters. And at the end of the day I’d follow you to whatever fandom you ultimately choose simply because you are that type of person one can consider a blessing to have around. I could go on for hours but I’ll keep it at this because otherwise I’ll end up writing a novel or two. <3
