The first loud boom tore her attention away from the dishes immediately, nearly dropping the one she had been washing in her haste to run towards the sound. By the time she found the hole in the wall and walked out of it, seeing her small son making his way towards one of the trees near their house, holding his hands out toward it. What on Earth....
She began making her way over to Goten, about to speak. At the blast and resulting crack, her body moved as if on instinct, rushing from where she stood to scoop the toddler up and out of harm’s way, the falling branch hitting the ground not a second later. It was times like this she was most grateful for her martial arts training; it had taught her to move quickly and efficiently.
“Goten”, she breathed out, heart still racing, as she held him. “Are you alright?"
"Dad? What's radiates hunk energy mean?"
“ This doo-hickey says it means ‘Me’! ”
“ Why? Did the computer give you a hard time? ”
❝ ah, goten?? ❞ immediate guilt sets in as his little brother starts the water works. he didn’t know he felt like this! it must’ve been hard for him.. a soft sigh, scooping the youngest up to hold him in his arms. tone no longer scolding, more calm and soothing.
❝ goten.. i will always love you and mom more than anything. but? i like videl too, you know? she makes me happy, and you want me to be happy right? trust me, nobody’s takin’ your places in my heart. ❞

"Happy Mother's Day, Mom!" Goten smiled as he held out a paper card. "I made this for you."
“Oh thank you, Goten! I’m so happy!”
She takes the paper card. It’s made from construction paper and covered in crayon, stickes, and glitter. She opens it up and sees his sweet, thoughtful message to her. Oh! She’s tearing up! She gonna start bawling!
“Ohh! Thank ya, baby! Yer so sweet! I could eat ya up!”

She was training her youngest son while Gohan was studying for his entrance exams for high school. If Goten wanted to be a martial artist like his father, then he needed to take it seriously.
