I wanted to draw a lot more and write one-shots of the squad to celebrate the holidays, but I've been busy with school, and honestly haven't really been feeling the holiday spirit move through me too much this year :/
But I didn't want to do nothing, so here's just some doodles :P
Hope you're all having a happier holiday season though! 🩵
Trying to make myself feel better this Christmas while being sick and away from home & family for the first time by imagining the sillies enjoying their holidays together.
Hope you're spending it with someone special - whether it's a partner, a friend, family, a pet, or just with yourself and a treat or two, because love comes in all shapes and forms.
Originally I wasn't planning on doing anything for Valentine's day in regards to the squad because last year's posts were good enough for me but I changed my mind a few days ago aha...
Anywho, the sillies in some V-Day inspired outfits:
Hunter and Jung went out shopping for treats and are definitely going to take advantage of the after Valentine's Day sales. But first they have to get valentines for Omega's class's valentine's day exchange.
Echo and Viram went out on a picnic date because for once the two of them actually have some time off from their busy lives to do so. They're going to make sure to make the most of it, but first: flowers!
Wrecker and Khea got each other some giant plushies as gifts this time of year. Safe to say that they won't have much space on their bed for themselves with the two new giant additions to their little clan.
Tech's got a reservation and a whole date night planned out for him and Phee to celebrate Valentine's day. He's also got a little letter filled with maybe a poem or two dedicated to her that he's planning to give her.
Something something, crossbows and Cupid and Crosshair and his marksmanship. Honestly I saw those outfits on Pinterest and wanted to draw the two of them in them. For the most part, they're spending Valentine's inside with chocolates and a cheesy romcom.

💘 Additional Last Year's Valentine's Post
Welcome back to my attempts to post something Silly Squad (Bad Batch x Baddies Batch) related - be it headcanons, one shots/fics, or art - every Saturday! Just cuz Silly Squad Saturday has a nice ring to it :P
This week we have: Squad Shorts!
🎶 My milkshake brings all the Batch to the yard 🎶
Or the Bad Batch repping some of the shorts you can buy from my store: here!
Bonus:
Crosshair's pretending he isn't liking what he's seeing, Wrecker's being his usual hype man self, Tech is making plans for later, Echo's also making plans and is being as supportive as ever, and Hunter's wondering who the hell convinced Jung to put those shorts on in the first place.
And I'm debating whether or not to do the reverse and put the Batch in shorts 🤔

Close ups under the cut!
Semi-unrelated, but I love using Tay as a punching bag because I'll draw him and then be like "How the fuck are you still alive?" Man is just covered in scars.
Then I'll feel bad as if I'm not the creator who gave him those scars and brand marks :/
But at least his ass is phat.
Tattoo reveals for Jung, Khea, and my personal headcanon for what Phee is rocking 😌
Jung's got cool swirls that match his facial tattoos, and on the backs of the hands, there are symbols that look like the Jedi symbol, and then Khea's back/thigh piece is an iteration of her clan sigil. Phee's just got some cool abstract design that I sorta based off the wave motifs on the Pabu citizens' clothing.
And lowkey I am in love with Viram and I might steal her from Echo.

This week we have: Character Sheets WIPS!
Lately I've been working on, idk what to call them, character sheets? On my take of The Bad Batch in canon and in a modern AU (which I'll post about later) and their significant others.
Once I finish them up, I'll definitely explain like the tattoos and thought process in a post all together but feel free to ask any questions or anything!
Also this is like,, "before the fall" so that's why Crosshair still has his hand. Their designs would look a little different if it was like all of them on Pabu, but I wanted to have this version of them over the Pabu one for now.
The past week, it was Korean Thanksgiving (추석 - 'chuseok'), and so I thought to redraw the art I made in celebration last year for fun and to see how much my art has changed. Can you tell I had a lot of fun with these 😅
But here's some performer!Viram x musician!Echo <3

Close ups and a deep dive into the important cultural items/symbolism represented under the cut!
Viram:
- Viram is dressed up as a buchaechum (부채춤), aka 'fan dance,' performer. Typically, this dance is performed in a large group of women who use the fans, or buchae (부채), that are supposed to mimic the wings of butterflies to create elaborate, beautiful movements.
- The dance is said to represent family, school, community coming together, and be a way of appreciating minority empowerment - things I felt were fitting for Viram, since those were some things her parents taught her to value above all else.
- Fun Fact: Throughout elementary and bits of middle school, while going to Korean school, I often had to perform (and compete against other Korean schools) in buchaechum. I wasn't a fan (pun intended) of having to practice, but I was a fan of the fans. Though I wanted to get to play percussion with the rest of the boys.
Echo:
- To accompany Viram in her performance, Echo is dressed as a samul nori/pungmul (사물놀이/풍물) player.
- "Samul nori" - literally translates to four, object playing - representing the four percussion instruments that are usually played during the performance, while "pungmul" is the name of the Korean folk music traditional performance that includes drumming, dancing, and singing.
- I didn't draw it, but trust that his other hand is holding a kkwaenggwari (꽹과리), or a tiny gong that is used to lead the percussion players in the performance.
- The outfit has roots in shamanism - notably the brightly colored cloth sashes - and the hat he's wearing is called a sangmo (상모).
Hibiscus:
- The hibiscus/Rose of Sharon, or mugunghwa (무궁화), is Korea's national flower. Its Korean name translates into "eternity" or "inexhaustible abundance" and is a representation of the unyielding spirit of the Korean people.
- During Japanese occupation (like with a lot of other cultural Korean pieces) Japanese tried to eradicate the flowers by uprooting and burning the trees - replacing them with cherry trees - but the mugunghwa lived up to its name and persisted.
- During chuseok it's used to decorate homes for good luck and you might recognize the name from "Red, Light Green Light" where instead of saying 'red light, green light,' we say "Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida" (무궁화 꽃 이 피었 습니다) - which translates to "the hibiscus flowers bloomed." This was one of my favorite games to play in taekwondo whenever we had free time during the class.
- Due to its importance in Korean culture and it being a symbol of overcoming hardships and colonialism, I thought it was a very fitting symbol for both Viram and Echo who, despite everything, have persevered in their lives.
