first day of first NaNoWriMo!

well, i only got 693 words for the first day. i started late and have to get up early so bed time for me :( plus had a mishap with a giant spider ambush!! but i’m feeling it, i’ve finally been bitten by the writing bug again and i’m hoping it lasts!

hey what’s up hello, i’m scoot. 19, from Australia, pronouns are she/her. i’ve been on tumblr for years but only recently started my writing blog and had no idea about writeblr until this year! 

i’ve only just graduated high school and until i figure out what i’m interested in studying, i’m just working, travelling, and writing! i’ve been writing ever since i could hold a pencil, and have amassed a collection of ideas and characters, which i’m always happy to talk about! 

i have 7 current wips (yikes, i know!). i mainly write YA fantasy/adventure. i’d really love to make some writer friends, so feel free to reblog this/shoot me a message or anything!

i just wanna scream into the void somewhere where i have few irl friends, as opposed to fb or any other social media. i’m excited about this, but it’s still to early to officially announce to my entire social network.

but i’m going back to school!!! i’m really really excited about it, it’s one of those things where every time i think about what i’ll be doing, the type of coursework i’ll be taking, and the kind of job that i’ll have afterwards i get filled with warm fuzzies and excitement, so i’m pretty sure this is the right move.

it’s just too early to officially announce - i only applied to the college last night, and should know in a few days if i’m accepted or not - which is why it’s kind of vague. but if i get in, i’ll be taking the last gen eds starting in the spring, applications to the program i’m interested in open in january, and i’ll know by april if i’m accepted. then classes will start in the fall and after 2 more years of school i’ll be in a new career, which will bring me closer to working with animals!!!

i’m leaving this vague on purpose cause i also don’t want to jinx myself. if we chat and stuff, or if i know you irl and you really wanna know, send me a dm and i’ll tell you there! it’s just a little bit too early to officially announce anything. x:

in case anyone who knows me irl (or mutuals, or whoever cares honestly!!) hasn’t already heard, i put my 2 weeks in at my current job, and in less than 2 weeks at this point i’m moving to virginia!

i’m really nervous about moving and i’m really sad about leaving my friends but also excited about where my next life chapter is taking me!

i have an interview starting very very soon. i’m hella nervous because if i get this job my entire life is going to change over the course of the next 3 weeks which is honestly so exciting, but terrifying all at once.

so, NaNoWriMo....

wow, November went by quickly, huh? i didn’t make the word count, in the end. i started off strong, but i work a lot, and i never had time, and i lost motivation and blah blah blah. i could make a million excuses. but i learnt a lot from this year, and i hope i can take those lessons on and participate again next year. i’m happy too, because i finally made a start on my book! it’s only a bit, but we all start somewhere.

i’m super proud of every NaNoWriMo participant, and i hope you’re all proud of your work too!! ❤️
