Chapter 4
Summary:
In all his daydreaming about his old apartment with his neighbors and their potlucks, Clint hadn’t imagined something like that would happen again. Dinner turns into dessert where Clint has the best lemon bar he’s ever had and dessert dissolves into drinks until there are kids falling asleep on laps or in front of the tv upstairs where someone turned a movie on. AJ has curled up at Clint’s side with his head in his lap.
Bucky’s blue eyes are dark in the dim light of the living room as he looks at Clint. He tilts his head towards the door. Clint gives a nod. Carefully extracting himself from the sweet little boy on the couch, he grabs his shoes. “Thank you for everything Sarah.”
Warm and quiet, Sarah lifts a hand. “See you next week Clint. Thanks for the chips.”
The words hits Clint in the chest. “See you next week.”
