A SCORPIO’s POV OF LOVE...(true story)*Names have been altered to protect identity*
A party. That was certainly not my thing. My ogre like friend told my mom she was having a party for her 14th birthday. And i had just landed on my former birth country. Jeez. I didn’t even know my whereabouts! So i slipped on my yellow collar shirt and left.
I grew nervous at the crowd of people that were supposedly my age. Her parents greeted me with excitement and i smiled through it all. Suddenly, i was taken to be introduced to her friends who were watching horror movies at that time. The room was dark, she switched the light on.
“This is Joseph”, she exclaimed happily. My gaze ran across the girls anxiously. I was nervous around strangers.
They just said hi and continued watching and screaming. I obviously left to find some guys to hang out with.
-ONE YEAR LATER-
I joined the same high school as her. But within the first month, things became grim. I wasn’t the type to always fit in but a peculiar situation that has never occurred to me before happened that changed me forever.
One day my family friend walked up to me and said these three words that shut my world down, “Tanith likes you.”
She sounded genuinely excited but i hated her smug face.
“Did i say something wrong?”, she asked, concerned.
I ignored her and went away, leaving her dumbstruck.
Later that afternoon, at art class, i sat to draw as usual.
Just then, she entered. I immediately had a bored face on and finally got to study her. She was short with a quirky walk. Her voice was soft like an ocean wave that threatened to knock me down. Her features were soft but structure harsh with no chubbiness to it. Those gleaming brown orbs suddenly caught my gaze. My eyes widened, breath quickened. Her soul spoke volumes to my heart that didn’t beat as hard as it did that day. I wanted to look away but something about her made me penetrate deeper, stare longer. At some point she arched a brow and whipped her head away, curls bouncing behind her. My heart sank as i scowled. This is what i was afraid of.
Little did i know this was the start of a whole new world.
