13 - Anakin and Padme // rescue mission
@dhrmonth
Lyra and Scorpius, arms bound, and heads covered by a ruck sack, walked down what they could only make out was a labyrinthic hall escorted by what could only be two Death Eater soldiers, based on the number of steps echoing overhead.
"𝐌𝐮𝐦'𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤."
"𝐎𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐈 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧?"
"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 -"
"𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐭 𝐮𝐩."
Mind reading had always been something they were able to do for as long as they could remember. Their mother said it was a rare trait magical twins had in their paternal family line.
Lyra also always had a sixth sense. She could detect an individual's magical energy if she concentrated enough. It was that ability that brought them here, in Death Eater territories, trying to find their uncle who was captured during an operation three weeks ago.
"𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩, 𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. 𝐖𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬."
"𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭. 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨-"
Their bodies were suddenly dragged to an open room and were made to sit down. A dangerous presence walked inside and in front of them and they both curled their bodies inward, frightened. They surmised it was the High Reeve.
"What is this?", the High Reeve asked, his tone menacing.
"We found them lurking in the shadows in Annex 3, Sir. We figured they're from the Order.", one masked soldier explained.
The High Reeve's angry voice filled the room. "They look like children."
"Th-they 𝘢𝘳𝘦 children, Sir.", the soldier squeaked.
The High Reeve mumbled a curse, and the twins could hear the soldier screaming and writhing in pain on the floor.
The bags covering their heads were yanked off.
....
Draco took in the faces of the intruders and shock radiated from him as he took in their light blonde hair and blue-grey eyes that were similar to his.
And they looked at him like they were seeing a ghost. A look passed between them, eyes communicating, confirming they also had inherited the unique Malfoy gift.
He let out an incredulous laugh because of course The Order lied to him when they said Hermione and the twins she carried had died.
𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴.
Draco felt an overwhelming heaviness in his chest overcome him, but he stomped it out immediately. He needed to get them out.
His dark mark began to burn. Draco needed them out, now.
