【🔧】— There was suddenly a resounding command of ‘GET DOWN’ and before the Engineer could turn her head to look, she let out an indignant grunt and was on the floor with the large Scotsman atop her. 

        Before she could question him (or hurl any verbal abuse at him) an explosion resounded and a wave of warm, smokey wind blasted past them with a whistling blow.

      “Ah, what-- what was that?” She asked, craning her neck to look in the direction. With the smoke clearing, all that remained of the area was shrapnel from a worktable and an empty crate of fireworks.

‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ The night was cold, colder than the average winter night in the New Mexican badlands, and the rare desert rain the night before hadn’t helped. Despite the bone-chilling temperatures, the desert hummed with the sound of animal life. The sounds of mole crickets chirping, elf owls hooting, geckos croaking, and coyotes yelping could be heard all over the vast landscape. The coyotes, inparticular, sounding abnormally nearby.

      Really, really nearby, in fact.

      Just outside the base, one could see a small band of them gathering together to gnaw and feed at some carcasses left over from the battle, all in a neat, unusual little pile that had been deliberately placed there by somebody, and it looked like that somebody was approaching the coyotes.

      Someone, dressed in what appeared to be some kind of poorly-made coyote disguise, was dragging the dismembered body of a dead scout over to the canids, and upon sight of the fresher corpse, they wagged their tails and ferverously dug into their new meal, which the figure in the costume took a few steps back and clapped their hands excitedly with glee.

     That someone appeared to be Pyro. Pyro was feeding dead bodies to coyotes at night, in a fursuit. Just when the guy couldn’t get any weirder.
