”One of the dimensions involved in the plot of the third game in the Lands of Lore fantasy RPG series was the Shattered Desert, which looked suspiciously like a post-apocalyptic bad-future timeline of the Tiberium Wars. Tiberian Sun hadn’t actually released yet, though, and until it did the abandoned Nod base with a dormant mechanical “wizard” that called itself CABAL was simply presented without explanation.

“Furthermore, Lands of Lore supposedly shares a universe with a puzzle-adventure trilogy, The Legend of Kyrandia. Unfortunately so far as I know that’s limited to background references and plot devices, not characters, but Scotia is at least mentioned by name in LoK’s The Hand of Fate and if that counts for anything there might be another two or three more links added to this sequence. And, counting Red Alert, some intense hopscotch between four otherwise-unrelated Westwood Studios game series in three different genres.”
