Todd's journal: 05/09/199X
Everyone had a really good time at prom. Oscar and I both had an eye on Kyle and Erica, to make sure they didn't slip off together, and they didn't. Oscar and L didn't excuse themselves to smoke behind the auditorium. And I danced with Lilith - I haven't spent as much time with her since we started at Copperdale, but she's still the same Lilith I've known since I was a kid. Still crazy, still joking about running off and stealing alcohol and climbing the water tower. Actually I'm not sure she was joking.
Erica was crowned Prom Queen. She was delighted. We didn't tell her that we rigged the vote - Oscar and I, plus all our friends, voted for her.
After the announcement everyone went to eat, and Lilith nudged me and told me to go dance with Angela. She turned down so many dates that she ended up without one, and she was too proud to ask around. Honestly, I'd wanted to all night, but I was waiting for Lilith's permission. Angela looked stunning. Maybe I should have voted for her as Prom Queen.
