Brad Scott wins a split decision over Scott Askham
So this was a pretty gnarly little battle between two clunky slow middleweights. When Scott Askham could settle down on his shots, he was able to really plug Brad Scott. For Brad Scott, he's just a touch too slow to ever really run through the middle of the division. He'll always be a guy who lives on these European prelims and puts on some wacky squirrely fights. Askham's gotta learn to pull the trigger a lot quicker. Otherwise he'll forever lose these close decisions. Might've fought three rounds hurt so if so, I give him all the respect.
Apparently while I was out, we had a crazy women's bantamweight fight with a bad decision and we lost two fights due to "medically unfit to compete." Well okay then.
Jack Hermansson defeats Scott Askham in a fun MW fight
Jack Hermansson wins his UFC debut. It was a very interesting, very fun fight at 185 lbs Hermansson is never going to wow you athletically but he's got a great clinch game, NORMALLY has very good takedown and wrestling and his striking seems to be improving. Scott Askham is 28 years old and that's really young at 185 lbs but he needs to find some kind of consistency in the division. This up and down L-W-L-W-L stuff isn't going to be doing anybody any favors. Would love to see Hermansson get a bigger name the next time out.
