Ben Lomond 25th March 2017
This is the beginning of our adventure - we started with Ben Lomond.
We started with one of the most commonly climbed munros’ Ben Lomond. It was such a beautiful warm summery day. We started the usual tourist path from the car park and started off in the direction that quite a few other hillwalkers seemed to be going in.
It was such a steep beginning and both of us struggled a bit with the beginning as we hadn't been properly walking in so long... About half way up it levelled out and we got a bit of a rest.
What amazed me was how chilled it was, so many other walkers strolling up with their dogs as if it was nothing. How amazing would it be to live right next to such a gorgeous mountain just for a dog walk. It did rub it in a bit though when we were struggling.
The path was so clear the whole way and visibility was incredible, I actually got a bit sunburnt on my neck! Thats how nice a day it was!! There were a couple of patchy bits of snow towards the summit which were a bit treacherous as they were melting. I thought i was going to lose Scott off the side of the mountain because of this plus he wasn't wearing proper walking boots...
We made it! Despite the slippiness and sunburn. It was bloody frozen at the top in comparison as you would expect... and the view was INCREDIBLE! I’m talking a 360degree panoramic view of all the mountains around you could see for miles!
