I agree! Like Iris is going to find out, and when she does she's probably gonna be really pissed (and rightfully so) that Barry would keep something like that from her when they've always told each other everything like it's gonna end badly
I know! I really hope that once this all comes out she basically makes him promise (also her father) never to do something like this again because she's a big girl and can take care of herself.
And like, rather than trying to shield her from things that could hurt her, give her the information she needs to make smart decisions. Give her the tools to protect herself when she can and the tools to know when something funky is going down and what to do in that situation. She's literally doing stupid stuff like running to crime scenes because no one is telling her anything. *sigh*
