☆ + diego pls, it's what he deserves
Wow amazing that it took me so ridiculously long to even think of one happy Hargreeves headcanon, what is my life:
Diego is very into Dance Dance Revolution. Eudora took him to an arcade once and they had DDR and Diego had never played. Eudora immediately decided that they had to change that, and she and Diego spent like, all their coins playing it (which was much better than the alternative, Diego wasting his coins on the claw machine and inevitably breaking it lmao). Diego was hooked and definitely bought DDR for his own apartment after that and he gets to dance on it all the time.
Okay going off my Ben headcanon, Diego also loved WWE (honestly, all the siblings were kind of into it but Diego and Ben got into it for like, the ~~art~~ of the show, whatever that meant). Diego had a huuuuuuuuuuge crush on the Rock and because you know, they’re both a bit famous, The Rock is aware of him and once posted a picture of the Umbrella Academy on a TBT post and Diego almost cries with happiness.
Seriously though. He talks to Lila about it for like 40 minutes and she’s very confused because she doesn’t know who Dwayne Johnson is but Diego is so, so happy.
He stumbles upon fan accounts for him from people who love him as a vigilante and academy member and he’s kind of weirded out but mostly flattered. He sees one of them tweet out “omg i’m crying diego hargreeves followed me back on instagram” and he’s hit with the fact that he is someone else’s The Rock and he has this goofy little grin on his face the entire day.
I feel like he’s just so good with babies!!! Every time he sees a baby in a store or whatever he smiles or waves or makes funny faces at them and they always giggle and smile at him!!!!
Diego’s made friends with so many Commission people at this point and a few of them visit him from time to time!! Dot and Herbie are frequent visitors, and Dot is totally bisexual so when she sees a pride parade she gets REALLY excited because she’s never been to one and Diego is like yeah!!! Let’s go!!!
They (and the other Hargreeves bc y’know, the Hargreeves at pride is a DELIGHT) go and someone inevitably makes the joke “no cops at Pride just Diego and his knives.” Klaus gets very excited and at a stand to make buttons he makes the phrase into a mini button and Diego very happily wears the button on his shirt and points to it and tells people, “I’m Diego.”
