Nothing screams kid’s room more than pastel or primary colored walls. Painting the walls a neutral color provides a sophisticated backdrop for a grown child’s bedroom.
Juvenile furniture sets often come with a lot of pieces (dressers, hutch, desk, bookcase nightstands). Pare down the furniture for a more grown up look. A nightstand or two, a dresser and maybe an upholstered chair are all that is needed.
Swapping out sports or character themed bedding with solid bedding is an instant update. Adding some pillow shams in classic patterns like stripes or florals is the perfect finishing touch.
