You barely could register what had happened. A dark figure stood in front of you, wielding a large weapon within their hand. Grey eyes peered at you from behind thick, black hair. Blaring alarms and screaming surrounded you, but you could see nothing else but him. Not the people scurrying to get away, not the bodies laid at his feet. You tried to move, but your body wouldn't budge.
You couldn't tell anymore if his eyes really were grey.
You were surrounded by nothing but remains of metal and fabric, blood staining them as you sat among the debris. The man did not attack, instead staring down at you with a strange gaze, as if surprised, yet suspicious. Weakly, you rose your hands drenched in red upward. The sword clattered at the man's feet as large, calloused hands descended down towards your own.
A part of you wasn't sure if that had really happened, though.
The red light lit up his face, and you could now see a mixture of anger and confusion. Your wrists were firm in his grip, not enough to crush you. He opened his mouth, but you couldn't hear what he was saying to you. He yelled, brows furrowed. You heard noise but nothing discernable.
You don't know what happened next.
The eyes remained bored into yours, but they seemed more disembodied as everything about him seemed to simply fade. You opened your mouth to call out, but you could no longer recall what you possibly could have said.
"We need to up the dosage."
Tears pricked your eyes as you tried to grab onto the tattooed leg in front of you, belonging to the man who no longer had a face in your mind.
"Don't give me that, hand me the class C."
Everything was gone from the room, the man being the last to disappear as your hands caught themselves on the floor that seemed to be made from nothing at all.
"What do you mean stabilize the subject?"
"Direct orders from…"
"…the site has been destroyed."
"Move the subject to a secure holding cell."
You parted your lips, but nothing came out. You felt your body being moved, the sounds of footsteps surrounded you. A cold breeze met you, but you struggled to open your eyes. A bright white light hit your closed eyelids, creating shapes. Finally, you could force something out.
"What?"
