“Addie.” Noelle sighed for what had to be the 20th time since the glam squad had gotten to the mansion to get the girls ready for the night. “Let them do their job, I know you think you’re helping but I assure you you’re not.” Addie kept trying to hand things to the people working on her or help where she could, clearly not used to letting anyone pamper her or get her ready. For Noelle though, it was old hat and she sat back in her chair, scrolling through her phone. That wasn’t to say she wasn’t excited, she couldn’t wait for Kai to see her all dressed up and gorgeous, but it wasn’t causing her to panic either. The four girls were in the kitchen, each in their own chair with their own little crew working on their hair, makeup and nails. Collette had given each of them a single glass of champagne and the whole thing felt like a photo shoot. Except a photo shoot with four giggly, excited teenage girls that had very very good feelings about the night in front of them. Lydia had extended the olive branch to Akari, who was now seated between Noelle and Addie. They figured if they were to get Kai off their backs and make August as happy as he deserved to be, they should probably stop being such shits about it and annoyingly she actually seemed to be a good person. “I know, I know.. I’m sorry.” “Just drink your champagne and relax. You have nothing to be on edge about, you’re going to be a knock out.” Addie blushed and looked down at her freshly done nails. She had gone shopping in Lydia’s closer and picked something out that she actually felt pretty in. Not something that the others had tried to squeeze her into where she just felt ridiculous, this felt light and easy and actually made her look forward to the night and Jeb seeing her in it.
“You’re not nervous at all?” She asked anyone who was bothering to answer, but their answers got caught off by Nate walking into the kitchen and settling in on the counter. “What’s there to be nervous about? It’s everything you guys do every day just with music and nice clothes.” He grinned at Lydia, “Kinda hurt I didn’t get an invite this year, Reagan.” Addie whipped her head to look at Lydia, who seemed calm cool and collected. It was probably just Nate being Nate, “Oh my god can you go?” Noelle hopped out of her chair and started to the stairs to change, “No can do I’ve been put on champagne patrol by mom while she’s on her call.” Noelle rolled her eyes and went upstairs, the other three following behind one at a time as they finished while Nate helped himself to his own glass of champagne. “Sorry Lydia, he’s just.. well you know how he is.” The dresses were hanging in Noelle’s room and Addie felt her heartbeat quicken, causing Noelle to sigh and say as nicely as she could muster“Addie I swear, if you don’t calm down you’re going home. Jeb has seen you blacked out and throwing up in a bush, that should stress you out way more than this.” Addie opened he mouth to protest but there wasn’t anything to say. Noelle was completely right.
