she had a business meeting. or at least that’s what she told the nosy people who were curious as to where her whereabouts were heading to so early in the work day. and quite frankly, it wasn’t any of their business. she wasn’t there to contribute to their office gossip or tell humorous stories about the atrocious clients she would have to deal with from time to time; she was there to lead them, tell them what to do and raise her voice when it wasn’t completed. she was pretty good about doing that portion of her job; the lying and excuses were just something extra to make her seem more professional and involved.
and where was she going in all actually? to see someone, a certain someone who she described held an aura of maturity and was nothing like those rats she had to work with. he was the cliche set of three: cool, calm, and collected. and ultimately, she adored it.
and when finally arriving at that sacred restaurant her beloved smirk only grew wider, taking notice of how he sat so peacefully when waiting for her late arrival. it was obvious too that she had just come straight from the office to meet him, a more casual form of attire dressing her body that seemed to be a perfect colour coordinated match to the black box she brought as something a little extra. gifts were easy for her to obtain, so she figured why not spoil him a little.
“sorry i’m a little late, the security team was in a frenzy about something but i just couldn’t be bothered by it.” look at her, using manners. “you would think a team of well qualified degrees could be able to block any incoming attacks. they better hope it doesn’t piss my father off too much or he’ll be yelling at them for days.” and there it went, her lips already chattering away at the nonsense that accumulated her day. trust with such information was never an issue with him, after all what could he be storing it for anyway?
“but on lighter news, i got you something.” she was referring to the box that had now been set onto the middle of the table, the 14k gold cuff links resting inside; she figured it would go well with the watch she was planning on getting him next time.

jibber jabber, monotone voices, and fake laughter of females trying to appeal to fellow male coworkers; it was all noise to her. the stretch of the hallway just seemed to get longer and longer, the workers on the sidelines only lowering their voices when her presence emerged in visibility and walked past them. she walked with an aura of power, and ultimately didn’t really care about how they viewed her. she was their superiority in all actually, so the rumours that spread about her could be taken as legitimate for all she cared. sometimes it was fun to play the big bad wolf, she didn’t have to worry about being screwed over or stepped on. no, she would never allow that.
she would never allow that to happen to a friend either-- a legitimate friend that is. for someone who could be as cruel as her it was almost like seeing sunshine on a rainy day when her behaviour was genuine and sincere with an individual. and maybe that was another reason people were staring at her as her heels treaded the maroon flooring of the corporation; besides her was another female, hani’s height making her take the shorter counterpart despite the both of them showcasing heels. the more significance of this scenario wasn’t the fact that she was seen actually outside of her office for once, but for the observation that she seemed to have an innocent interest in the second party: joy, as she was nicknamed to.
her face stayed consistent with positive expressions, wavering between smiles embraced of laughter and snickers at the comments of distaste she would make. you know, distaste at some of the things and people in the room she was telling joy about. “that over there is where they go for the water dispenser.” notice how she said they, it was an obvious separation of herself and the associates of this company. “there’s actually an employee room around the corner and down the hall, but, i thought the cliche giant blue water cooler would be a fun touch to incorporate too.”
and off the pair went, hani’s comments ranging from ‘see that guy over there? he’ll try to hit on you but he has a girlfriend. poor girl is oblivious,’ to ‘this entire block section are quality workers,’ which were remarks that could be heard by anyone in a decent ranged distance, her intent of hiding what she had to say, whether positive or negative being nonexistent. “if anyone tries to pull a fast one on you, let me know. i got you your own office cleared and set up for you near mine, it has luxury accommodations and everything, should we set the room up together? miss financial manager.”
she wanted to touch his hands so bad, just to know how it feels to hold hands. but she knew her hands would tremble. she gone a little wild and wanted to hug him. but she feared she would melt in his arms. she crossed all limits and dared to dream of a kiss. but she knew her heart won't take it. she will disappear into space. she gone back to her senses again where she is not worthy.
