Raquel had done a pretty good job of avoiding Edwina and Jamie since news of their relationship had broken. She should have been happy for her best friend, for her other friend. She knew that she should, but she couldn’t quite shake the way it made her feel sick to her stomach knowing that they were together now. That they had been harboring feelings for each other this whole time and she hadn’t known or suspected. Things had only gotten worse after the exchange of texts between them. Sure, her texts had been just slightly passive aggressive towards Jamie, but she was almost always mostly fucking around. She had thought the other knew that from their friendship and wouldn’t go running to Edwina over it. She knew now that wasn’t the case and it apparently wasn’t even her place to be his friend, or so she had interpreted for herself. Which was why she was avoiding the couple from her own personal pits of hell like the plague. In a town as small as Normal though, there was only so long you could go before running into someone you didn’t want to see.
The pink haired girl was making her way out of Marie’s with a bag full of take out from the place in one hand and a cigarette between the fingers of the other, bringing it to her lips again when her eyes landed on her best friend as she approached. She took a long drag before speaking. She had been smoking more than usual (which was saying a lot, considering her habits) because of everything else that was already going on, but she was starting to feel the need for a lot more. “Sup, Eds?” she greeted the shorter girl coolly, glancing around behind her as if searching for someone. “I’d ask about your companion, but I wouldn’t want to forget my place again. Already did a whoopsie on that, only got so many strikes left, y’know.”
