Screamstorm is just like a metal band name: incredibly silly in trying to sound cool that does a 180° and sounds actually cool. Do they speak in yelling?
A codename like “Screamstorm” isn’t out of place either, given we have the likes of Skyfire, Earthspirit, Flamebringer, and Nightmare, among others.
She does not speak in yelling, the name “Screamstorm” (aside from being an inverse of Whisperain) comes from what happens when she makes physical contact with others: Instead of the usual Originium crystals, her Oripathy has rendered her skin covered in minuscule barbs invisible to the naked eye that immediately react to others within touch by expanding and stinging, whether Screamstorm likes it or not. These stings are incredibly venomous and painful, capable of subduing even the sturdiest target with ease, lethal if untreated. The microscopic barbs, when expanding to sting a foreign entity, expand with such strength and impact that they make an audible noise similar to electricity -- initially, it was assumed she was using electricity-based Originium Arts until the wounds caused by her were properly investigated -- and the barbs can easily pierce through even heavy duty armor. The combination of her enemies’ screams of pain and the electric sound of her stings led to the name, which she isn’t entirely content with. Rhodes Island has fortunately provided her a full body suit made especially for her, internally lined with samples of her own biology (think of it as an artificial ‘lacquer’ made with samples of her own blood and skin tissue as a base) that her barbs don’t recognize as a threat, thus keeping them under control and rendering her able to interact with others without fear of involuntarily stinging them.
Though it is true that she gets loud if one manages to get her really into a conversation, particularly about her interest in architecture and construction; Before her infection, Screamstorm ran her own construction firm in Iberia as both owner of the enterprise and construction worker. Her contracting Oripathy, however, led to the end of that promptly, especially due to her very dangerous symptoms that put everyone around her in danger. She’ll never admit it, but she does get rather boisterous in the heat of combat, swinging around her iron girder, and a big girl means a big voice, so, hey, perhaps her codename isn’t that superficial.
