After discussing my previous capstone project with the instructor and my Senior Advisor we came to the conclusion that what I plan to do is Promotional and Merchandise Design. As such my project has changed slightly, I am creating promotional materials for a video game currently in production (yes, a real Indie game) If you could take a moment and respond to my survey to help me get a good idea of what consumers want to see in promotional materials I would be ecstatic! Only one answer is required so feel free to only answer the ones you want to.

Level Select Screen Revision / Alternative Draft Due to our changed screen resolution, every single existing screen must be adjusted. I take this opportunity to tweak the exiting screens and add – if needed – new functionality to each screen. As happened with the “Level Select Screen”. In the old version, we were visually limited to a specific number of levels, which wasn’t optimal. In addition, I was never satisfied with the gradient light effect. An overview with information (e.g. completed main/secondary objectives) about the current level wasn’t implemented as well. I’m showing here two alternative drafts, which gives us more flexibility. Each one with it pros and cons, but in my opinion, at least an improvement to its predecessor. My favorite is still the “Cyber Grid” version shown on top, because its technical, straight forward look. But the “Octagon Grid” version has more flexibility in regard to the level structure – it looks more like a tactical “battle map”. Let’s sleep some nights about this and decide later which one fits best.

Farm Screen HUD Layout
This took forever (many hours) but I’m really happy how this turned out. Ignore the background it’s just a placeholder. Also I did this mainly in SAI and didn’t feel like working on fonts for now so there are no fonts yet. I also learned a lot while working on this because I have never done anything like this before. I worked super hard on this trying to make it look pretty.
Basically it will work in a way that you can choose items or tools and put them into your 5 slot inventory to access them quickly. You can decide if you want to put a mix of items and tools, or just tools,or just items into these 5 slots. And then you use the item by tapping somewhere.
Some parts of this layout are still sketches, some are already finalised. Hope you like it!

a couple of my favorite panels from my screen design/storyboarding final! proud of how these turned out, the project itself was pretty nerve-wracking but im pleased with it overall
