I employ these grids and barriers in order to dissect, pixelate, filter and flatten landscapes and space. Subjects and figures are broken apart and reconstructed in such a way that they are both integrated into their environments and isolated within them.”

New York-based photographer Matthew Tischler’s Screen Series captures his subjects through window screens, netting and lightweight mesh cloth.

The technique filters out detail, effectively flattening out landscapes and space in richly saturated colors to create captivating visuals that resemble pixelated video stills.
