Paisley Elephants

The Paisley Elephant design looks great as printed fabric, wallpaper, and as a framed art print. In this article, designer Patrick Moriarty explains how the design has appealed to customers and curators in Indiana, Jerusalem, and London.

Screen-printing fabric

Screen-printed fabric and digitally-printed fabric are both important for today's designers. Designer Patrick Moriarty of Southend-on-Sea uses both printing methods to produce the fabrics required to make the products in his unique Paisley Power range.

Butterflies Flying to Australia

A new customer has been sent a Butterfly Collector cushion designed and hand-printed by Patrick Moriarty

Screen Printing 

I attended a Screen-Printing workshop a good while back, and on one of the screens it had this type on it. And I instantly wanted to try out some prints from it, as it completely fit in within this project.  Short very simple, kind words or wisdom. I knew i had to try a variety of colours, some I used more than one colour per print to try to create a marble affect throughout the font. The pink and peach print really stand out against the darker colours that I used, which was teal and grey, purple and grey also.

I just knew I wanted to use this within my project and wasn't sure how, because at first I was trying to avoid using text within the final outcome, but all my ideas, tests/experiments text kept creeping back in.  So I just thought i’ll keep these prints as an idea to maybe use them or use them as influence to develop ideas further.
