"Seeing Both At Once" This piece is my ode to vision and fractals. It took 4 years to develop the software for it, and it uses a pattern from the Mandelbrot set to draw an eye in 5 colors. I took that result and hand-painted on top, still only using 5 colors.. This was the most intense halftone painting I have ever done and it took more than 100 hours because very inch of the image was painted over, twice. I was not only shaping the details to look interesting and clean, but I was also smoothing out the gradients and clarifying the edges in the image.
