My teacher thinks I’m reading but I’m actually screenshotting all the pictures of Newsies I have on my phone so I can delete all my Pinterest boards and start over so I can organize it better.

screenshotting from netflix/hulu
since ive been dying for forever to take screenshots from shows i watch (to make icons) Without having to find the show uploaded illegally on some sketchy site/waiting for it to even be uploaded elsewhere, im VERY excited that i finally found something that works to let me screenshot from netflix/hulu and was really simple and quick to do- so i wanted to share it!
since season 5 of she ra was just released, i had looked up methods again and found this article which provides a link to a virtual machine program- thats actually like HELLA fucking easy and fast to use for what i want, unlike the shit i tried before. literally all u need to do is:
go to the download page (or the article i linked above, if ud like to see what it says too)
follow the instructions it says for downloading it (probably open the download link in a new tab, it brings u to a site called "sophos")
then once its downloaded, finish up the short tutorial real quick and go to the main page, it shows an image at the top telling what to click on the toolbar to open up a web browser in the virtual machine.
then just. log into netflix/hulu or whatever other site that may prevent screenshotting!
click outside of the browser when ur at the frame you want a pic of, and use whatever screenshot tool you want (i used snipping tool)!
boom ya finally got a screenshot ! this step is completely optional but, i like having things in good quality so:
1) crop the screenshot (with like. literally any art program) to just the show and no surrounding computer screen stuff
2) use an art program or a site like this to resize the image to be smaller (ill explain in a sec), i cant give an exact measurement of how much smaller to make it bc it depends on how big the image is
3) go to waifu2x and upload the smaller image to be smoothened out and made bigger! (i say to make the image smaller, bc if its not already small then it wont work quite as well on this site!) and boom now u got a good quality screenshot of ya show!

So Wasp called Bulkhead and Bumblebee numbnodes.
But they ARE robots, numbnuts technically could've worked, right? Idk maybe I just REALLY want a transformer to swear. Also fuck off Wasp.
And you, Longarm. You're alright, I like you.
There is another purpose in all things. Old or new. Some know not of it, always awaiting time due. Others lost, abandoned, forgotten, or their deed seemingly done. They can rest for eternity, but some day, in some way, someone might have another use for them.
Hiding from the cold watching Vice documentaries on a Saturday afternoon. This one in particular caught our eye, because we've all heard about the massive floating trash islands far out at sea.
It started out as expected…..
The plan was simple. Travel with a group of scientists to the middle of the Pacific ocean and get the "money shot" of the island.
Of course they collect plastic scraps from the ocean along the way…
In every form you can imagine….
Tiny particles of plastic pellets, bags and glitter cover the divers after every dive.
When we think of plastic in the ocean, we always imagine it as scraps that can be easily seen and collected.
But as this documentary shows, that "money shot" is going to be hard to come by, because plastic inevitably photodegrades and breaks down….
And though it may not be visible at first sight, plastic has irreversibly changed the biological integrity of our oceans. It has broken down and become part of it, in the form of a toxic sludge.
Check out this 3-part VICE documentary, Toxic Garbage Island, an eye-opening investigation into how plastic pollution is irreversibly changing the integrity of our ocean water.

A small part I found interesting was the crew’s acknowledgement of their plastic habit when eating and preparing food on the boat. They all seemed to feel trapped in a system where plastic cannot be avoided. I remember experiencing the same malaise before changing my lifestyle with guidance from zero waste pioneers like Bea Johnson.
It goes to show that the excessive toxicity of consume-and-toss culture has long-term consequences, and so we must be open to at least a little self-control when we consider our purchases and the waste we toss away, and take into consideration that there is no “away.” Every step of the recycling and waste process eventually sends our waste to the oceans.
So let’s cut the cycle guys!! If we can cut the packaging and stop buying products made from synthetic materials, we can manage to keep a lot out of the oceans.
