Compound bows were banned from completion at the time, by the nature of their construction they are easier to use and control. Inspired by the graphic nature of an Archery target, the bows and personal markings we used to pen on the targets, because otherwise when sharing targets once the arrows are removed, it's difficult to remember who's arrows made which of the holes.
