This uniquely detailed gown originated with Clémence Poésy’s portrayal of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots in 2004’s miniseries 𝑮𝒖𝒏𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒅𝒆𝒓, 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 & 𝑷𝒍𝒐𝒕. The padding around the sleeves was removed for the piece in the first episode of the 2017 production of 𝑮𝒖𝒏𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒅𝒆𝒓, where it was worn by an uncredited actress as Anne of Denmark. The costume made a third appearance in 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 2020’s second season episode 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏, where Amelia Gething wore it as Ursula Pole. The costume is a bit of a chameleon, color-wise. In 𝑮𝒖𝒏𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒅𝒆𝒓, 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 & 𝑷𝒍𝒐𝒕, the detailing on the bodice appears almost silver, but 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 shows the bodice is the approximate color of the skirt, which seems to be a light orange/salmon.
