Hey - usually I deal with my shit in my head by writing songs, but there are a few things I wanna try and unpack that are a bit more complicated than I can handle with pithy couplets and cowboy chords.

I can't tell you how desperately I want to make this a regularly updated webcomic wherein our faithful adventurers battle the forces of CapitronX, but... also... I am supposed to be working... and... we'll see what happens!

And last but not least, here is Jen the Blanketwitch! She describes (and portrays) herself (and her patchwork lizard) very nicely over here.

Although Blanketwitch Jen is immensely comfortable and content in her cocoon of enchanted fabrics, in recent months CapitronX has been casting snowpocalypse spells in order to freeze out any witch sympathizers left in what was once known as Witchland.

Finding herself unequal to the task of holding back the forces of Capitron on her own, Jen sought out help from nearby sympathetic music-witches and they now pool their resources to maintain cozy hideaways away from the prying eyes of CapitronX's forces.

Salamandra (Sally) the patchwork lizard has supernatural sensitivity to aesthetic cloth magic and makes sure that Blanketwitch Jen is always dressed impeccably fly.

Lizbee the Wise grew up across the sea studying dance magic from a young age. She met Jaywitch of the Jams while he was questing for lost wisdom and she shared with him ancient truths of compassion and courage. As an adult witch Lizbee pores through tome after tome in search of the One True Sentence that will bring peace and understanding to all lands and unite the populace against CapitronX.

Lizbee's familiar is Hootly the Owl. He flutters around the room while she studies, bringing her herbal teas and more books when she needs them.

In the early days of CapitronX's reign over Witchland, people would travel from far and wide to hear Riswitch the Radical's subversive beats and calls to revolt. Recognizing the threat that Noise-Magic and community posed to his systems of control, Capitron banished Riswitch to the Northeastern forests upon penalty of death. Fortunately, with the help of like-minded forest-Witches, Riswitch built an entire tree-dwelling colony high above the forest floor where Capitron's spies could not enter.

Riswitch's familiar is Frogly the Gump who is able to see into people's souls and help them achieve their true nature.

Witch-Madame Megathor is an alluring and ferocious master of storm magic from the temperate rainforests of the west. As an ambitious young woman she left her family in order to gain the knowledge and powers she deemed necessary to overthrow the tyrant of her homeland, the vicious and unmerciful CapitronX. Although the institutions of magical higher learning she fled to were exposed to be closely aligned with the forces of Capitron, in her studies she amassed a cadre of like-minded Witches dedicated to overthrowing the oppressive hierarchies of all Witchland.

Recognizing the threat that Mme Megathor poses to his empire, CapitronX cursed her true love, Andrew the Gallant, to maintain the form of a grey direwolf until the workers of Witchland stand firmly together. In this form Andrew serves as her familiar and enjoys running naked through the woods.

Since it is still witch week, I'm gonna go ahead and start making witchsonas for other members of Jay Ackley & the Family-Style Band.

It is therefore my pleasure to introduce you to Witch Lyan Rang of the Peaks and Witch Dr. Beasles* of the Lakelands; they are Witch-brothers from other Witch-mothers.

When Lyan Rang was a lad in the forested eastern foothills he came upon a strange crater in the woods with a glowing piece of metal at the bottom. When he returned to his village a local mystic fashioned it into a powerful instrument called the 'Space Sax' - young Lyan then embarked on a quest to find the true nature and hidden powers of the instrument, resolving to help fellow travelers along his way. Lyan Rang's familiar is his childhood friend, the mountain-goat Balthazar the Steadfast who maintains an appearance of control and wisdom, but is in truth borderline useless.

Dr. Beasles hails from a magical family in the bitter north and showed great promise as a young music-mage, but he was unsatisfied with the slow pace of the lakelands and refused to submit to a life of agricultural enchantments. He instead turned to rock-magic and left his homeland in search of a higher calling. Shortly after establishing a new life for himself he was ensorcelled by a sensuous demon and blinded by flattering lies of comfort and wealth. It was after this ordeal that he found refuge with Lyan Rang and the two of them have been firm companions ever since. His familiar is the magical cat Mittens who can deftly navigate through space and time, but refuses to accomplish anything helpful with this power.

*note, the phrase 'Witch Doctor' here simply refers to the fact that Beasles is both a Witch and has a Doctorate in Word-witchery, this asterisk is part of his formal title.
