Hello! I was just wondering if you could say what a 'scribe' is? I have tried finding the definition, but keep getting confused because it has so many meaning. Was it something important or relevant during the 1600's?

I am going to cover this in my “quick histories” but a scribe was someone who wrote books by hand. They would write down histories or poems, often at the commission of local nobles or as part of a religious order (I feel like TRM will go the former).
