Catching up to the exceed, she took a few deep breaths before speaking up. “It was pretty good! Sorry that I kind of just left without much notice.” Placing a hand behind her head, she chuckled nervously and gave him a lopsided smile. 

The feline chuckledat her words, trying to cover up the fading feeling of worry. Being a mage for hire tended to be like this, so he did not complain. Of course he had been worried, so had Gajeel and all the others. But what counted was, she was back, she was unharmed at first glance. It was over and done, and nothing to be sulking about. “It’s okay. You’re back now, and seemingly alright.”

Giggling at his reaction, she swished her drink a bit before taking a sip for herself. “It’s one of my go-to drinks after a long day. Cana showed it to me.” 

He watched as the clear fluid and ice moved in the glass. He picked his glass up again, taking another sip. “I’m not sure if Cana should show all of you the merits of alcohol.”

The Request

PantherLily left the masters office with a frown and a request in his paws. It was rare, actually,  people asking for him specifically. Usually it was Gajeel who was wanted to do a job, the feline tagging along as the dragonslayers partner. It was different this time. Including a sour feeling in his stomach. Still standing in the entrance to Makarovs office, he read over the request yet again, still not believing what he was asked to do. It was not an unusual task or something. The job was about finding the source of a drying stream. Nothing a mage could not handle – although Juvia would have been a better wizard to ask. It was the people who asked for him, that made him feel stunned. Shagotte. That was written right under the request.

The queen of all Exceeds. And she asked him of all people? Sometimes he wondered if she had forgotten how she had treated him. How she had seemingly forgotten him when they had come to Earthland. She – and all the others – had not even bothered to call out that two syllables that were his name. After everything that had happened, him  - along with the rest of the royal army – trying to erase Extalia. Him saving her from falling from the sky. Him being shot through his stomach from another captain for his betrayal. After all of this, she had not even bothered to utter two damn syllables to see if he was okay. Even if he was not a part of them any more, it had hurt. Nothing he would admit any time soon. It had been his turn to feel betrayed. PantherLily was confused as of what to think about all of this. He was also feeling fairy uncomfortable, when it came to the perspective of meeting them. Because he did not know at all, how to even interact with them.

While he was walking to inform MiraJane he would head out on a mission – so she could notify Gajeel when he came back – an idea formed in his head. It was nothing he liked to do, but something he had to do, apparently. The feline stopped, right beside a high barstool a certain blue haired mage used. It could not be that bad. It was Levy. He trusted her. She would not laugh about this. And she was smart. Having someone smart with him would do him good, he was sure of it. After a confirming nod – mostly to himself – he unfolded his wings and landed right beside her arm. Without further introduction he just asked: “I'd like to ask you a favour.” Because if he did not do it now, he would go by himself. Better do it now, before his pride won the fight against his fear.

Outofpartnership: O.M.G. I can see Gajeel getting up, trying to run off and falling face first onto the ground. And Lily is even more confused, because what the heck?

“Happy” is a big word, and Lily also is one of those people who get happy by smaller things, even though he rarely expresses it.

Kiwis, because well…

Seeing the people he calls friends happy.

Napping after an exhausting training session with Gajeel (because Gajeel likes doing this too, and both of them are just passed out on the couch, it’s really cute)

Lily is not a person to show when he is sad as well (why are you so stoic? ugh) so it’s hard to pinpoint this.

Thinking about his past in Edolas.

Not being able to help if he wants to or knows it is necessary. (like when Erza was fighting to stop Face and he could not help her even though they would have been on an advantage then)

Metalicanna leaving Gajeel for real. It had an impact on Gajeel, and Lily felt it. He started sticking around Gajeel more after this.
