roo shivered as he tried to bundle themself in their too-thin jacket. they weren’t necessarily thinking of staying in their tree house during the storm — only going to it in an attempt to better seal it up. but, he’d been far too slow and got caught up in the blinding snow. thankfully, the other basically saved him. “you know, your cakes are really, really good,” he said as he held his cup close. “probably, like, the best i’ve ever had. i mean, my mom’s are better, but that’s because love is the best ingredient,” they teased. “what’s with you and nurse odd-ball? i see the way they stare at you sometimes — how far have you two gone?” they asked, nosy.

masquerade starter for @lullabiesofwoe ft. ceylan and roo

a giggle escaped room as he tried to stifle himself by pressing his mouth against ceylan’s shoulder. their cheeks were warm and they felt light-headed – but in the best of ways. “dude, i think there was something in this,” they said, bemused and lifting up the glass in his hand. he couldn’t think of any other reason why he just couldn’t stop laughing and there wasn’t any sort of drinking in the hundred acre wood. they continued to nuzzle their face into the other’s shoulder, the soft warmth pleasant. “you smell nice. do you always smell this nice?” he asked as he looked up at her through his lashes. his smile turned softer. “are you always this pretty up close too?” his cheeks were pink from the alcohol in the punch as he continued to admire ceylan.

“hey, do you want to come check out my new crib?” roo asked, a half empty bucket of blue paint in his hand. the result of their painting were adorning his skin as he expectantly watched the other. “i’ve been working on my treehouse since i got here and it’s finally done. it’s pretty sick, just saying,” he teased, winking slightly as he grinned. “i’ve helped owl fix up his place a million times, so it’s safe – if that’s what you’re worried about. oh! and, to sweeten the deal, i’ll even let you put your mark on it. i’ve got some other colours up in there, so you can pick any that you want and paint something. it’s a once in a lifetime deal,” he tried to sell, grin only growing as if it would convince the other.

“does this skirt-pants combo make me look dumb?” he asked the nearest person, staring at themself in the mirror. he’d never had to wear bottoms before, but he was definitely going to take the opportunity for as long as he was in town. however, they simply couldn’t choose just pants or just a skirt – he wanted to wear both. so, they were planning on making a fashion statement in order to fulfill his dreams of having both. “like, is someone going to see me walking down the street and think: wow, he looks like such an idiot. there’s no way he could have a brain in that big ‘ole head of his?
