Whenever The Last of Us comes up on the Scriptnotes podcast I feel like Craig loves to drop Pedro’s name. 😂
In episode 572 Pedro’s name came up twice. The first time when they were talking about the audience complaining about trivial things in a show like hairstyles. Craig sarcastically said that people never complain about Pedro’s beard not being full enough. 😉
The second time they were talking about re-writes on set. And this was Craig’s little story about that on TLoU:
Sometimes you do have to do a little bit of a rescue mission at times because the plans aren’t working, but I defininetly had an experience with Pedro Pascal in particular where sometimes I would think „oh you know I wonder if we could maybe just do this or this“ because sometimes it’s not even that it’s not working, it’s because you’re running out of time. On the day. Maybe we can make this a little shorter. Or „oh, you know what, we need it to be like this, it’s not like this. We needed a car to be there, the car never showed up, let’s figure something else out“. And sometimes I would say „okay here’s … why don’t we do this instead“. And he would say „okay“. And then he would come back to me about 10 minutes later and go „listen, I’m gonna defend your writing“. *chuckles* Which he wasn’t really doing. *audience laughing* No, it’s not that nice. But he was seriously like „I actually liked it the way it was and here’s why“ and he would remind me about things that I had forgotten about, eventhough I was writing it.
