And tonight it's time for dancing in the stars-- Atlantis style. I hope you brought your posh frock because...
the 11th Doctor planning another date with Clara
Eleven′s Fantasy:
Eleven′s reality:
According to the BBC book,“The Doctor’s Lives and Times”, in an early version of the script for Nightmare in Silver, Eleven was heard whistling and having a great time getting ready for what he thought would be a night out dancing (“Atlantis-style”) with his Impossible Girl. Needless to say, those plans fell through when Clara appeared at the TARDIS door with Angie and Artie in tow.
Using her considerable charm...
...Clara persuaded the Doctor to take her and the kids on an exciting adventure and he suggested “Hedgewick's World”. So, off they went.
Unfortunately, they never got the chance to dance in the stars “Atlantis-style” or any other style for they became too busy fighting off Cybermen.
Heck, it seems like there’s always something getting in the way of Eleven & Clara’s dates. A few weeks earlier, the two had planned to visit 50′s Las Vegas only to be thwarted by Ice Warriors on a Soviet submarine.
We do know, however, that Clara did coax the Twelfth Doctor into a dance at the end of the short story, “All the Empty Towers” by Jenny Colgan. Although Clara’s hometown of Blackpool was in disarray, Twelve took it upon himself to cheer her up by asking her to dance. Ahh. Check out “The Scientific Secrets of Doctor Who” for the whole story. It’s terrific!
