17!!!!!
questions for the mun re: the muse. / always accepting.17) why do you think you connect to your muse?
because i’m gay for her UH. i mean most of my muses that end up being long-term aren’t ones i actually decided on; they literally just show up one day and that’s it (two of my muses names just came to me with no research and stuck, etc). i’m not sure why she initially struck me, i guess for the same reason coco strikes everyone, good or bad, ic & ooc? she’s super confident and cool and just. doesn’t give a heck about anything except kicking butt & looking cute, which usually characters make you pick one or the other but. not coco. i’m also always drawn to ‘ cool girl ’ archetypes because i think there’s a lot to unpack there and i think they’re usually created as a quirky love interest for our protagonist, which is a shame (mostly male like scott pilgrim, but sometimes women, like in life is strange). sometimes that’s handled well, sometimes it’s handled badly, but even though coco’s just a tiny side character (at least until the book releases SQUEE) it’s nice to see a character that just sort of…exists on her own and handles her own business, without anyone else’s baggage except her own, ba dum tss. she’s a nice inversion of tropes (which i love), & also a giant fuck you to her real life n*zi counterpart (which i also really love)
when i started writing coco, i just saw a character that i got to explore on my own terms, without much canon pressure / ships / etc, and who i wouldn’t run into much duplicate anxiety with (though the joke’s on me now, because i love duplicates and don’t even have anxiety abt it anymore adfasfasfs). i came from writing a much darker, much meaner oc into starting up coco’s blog, so i wanted to switch it up to a canon character, and writing a spunky gal like coco in the rwby rpc (which believe it or not used to be SUPER not serious lol) was the nice antithesis to that. she’s also helped me cope with a lot of bad things in my life, because if coco can handle it, then so can i ! i honestly think she’s one of those muses that i’ll never get rid of, since she’s just so strong and so much love has gone into portraying her and her life. so yeah. i love my babey girl
