Today is the 24th anniversary of the wide release of the original Lilo & Stitch.

This year's anniversary is more solemn after the recent death of Lilo Pelekai's original voice actress, Daveigh Chase, on June 16, which just so happened to be anniversary of the original film's premiere. This 'ohana has already gone through some losses of important cast members before, with David Ogden Stiers (the original voice of Dr. Jumba Jookiba) and Zoe Caldwell (the original voice of the Grand Councilwoman), but to lose such a young talent who voiced one of the namesakes of our beloved film and franchise stings even more.

This drawing of Stitch, Scrump, and Pudge was recently made by the original film's writer-directors Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders in tribute to her.

For me, I would like to dedicate this year's Stitch Week in memory of Chase. Again, we will never forget you in this 'ohana, Daveigh.

Lilo as a Baby

Living in Hawaii, Lilo would enjoy looking at fish in an aquarium, such she's too little to go swimming in the ocean yet. Listening to elvis music would be fun for her as she enjoys a strawberry ice cream on the beach. Lilo's homemade doll, Scrump, would always be by her side. Unfortunately, she might still express naughty behavior due to a lack of sympathy and understanding from others about her strange personality.
