Disney is the fantasies and dreams of children come to life. For adults, it's nostalgic. Walt Disney didn't intend his work to only be for kids. He designed stories to have depths, which can be appreciated in various ways at different ages. People keep finding meaning, joy and inspiration over repeated viewings of his work. Likewise, Walt built Disneyland, a place where people of all ages could find something to smile. Being a Disney fan is about connection. People meet up over their shared experiences. They trade stories, collectibles, trivia and laughs. As such, this blog is meant to share and talk about all things Disney.

My Neighbor Totoro: Cat Bus —Aesthetic

Cat Bus Tribe

Catbuses are individuals of bakeneko that transformed to mimic human vehicles for personal interests. Due to this, they're extremely fast and can run for a long time without showing any sign of exhaustion. Aside from this, Catbuses can either control or command trees to make way. They can even walk on unstable objects like electric wires, proving they're immune to electricity. Catbuses can also fly, run vertically, turn invisible, emit lights, detect lost humans, and sense calls from a distance.

These spirits possess extremely long life spans. There was a Catbus who had been alive for centuries as he was mimicing a kago from the Edo period. Along with the usual Catbus Adults, there are the babies known as Kittenbus, and the elderly like the Granny Catbus. Other tribe members include: Catlimo, Catrain, Catboat, Catplanes, and Catkago (Edo Period).

Agere: My Neighbor Totoro, Mei's Cat Bus —Aesthetic

Mei & Yokai

Out of all the humans, Mei has the strongest connection with the spirits. She has seen Mini and Mid Totoro. Mei took a nap with Big Totoro. She has interacted with the Soot Sprites and the Cat Bus. Lastly, Mei has seen the entire Cat Bus Clan, along with the Tree Spirit Totoro Clan because she bonded with a Baby Cat Bus.

Agere: My Neighbor Totoro's Summer —Aesthetic

Spirit Forest in Summer

In the summer, the spirits of the forest are less active during the day and mostly come out at night. This is how the Totoro Tribe avoids the heat. Thus, Big Totoro is usually sleeping during a day in a hedge nest. Meanwhile, Mid and Mini Totoros only come out to collect acorns. At night, the trio come out to plant the seeds and magically help the trees grow. At this time of the year, many soot sprites are returning to the homes they were cleaned out of during the spring. However, some may still be drifting to find more permanent settlements.

Agere Ponyo: Ponyo —Aesthetic

Ponyo as a Baby

Ponyo was born as a tiny goldfish. As first-born, she lived in a bubble tank with a sand castle inside her father's underwater dwelling prior to having several little sisters. Ponyo's father had her eat Edamame instead of ham. However, she's quite curious and sneaky. Ponyo would run away to the surface out of curiosity for humans, often sleeping under a bubble on top of a jellyfish to feel the sun's rays through the water.

Angel's Interests

Angel likes flowers, fashion, jewellery and being the center of attention. She also likes sunny days and dislikes rainy days as a result. Angel enjoys singing, sunbathing, shopping, and spending time with her lover. Beyond this, she hates being called fat.

Agere Disney: 2002 Stitch —Aesthetic

Stitch's Childish Tendencies

Unfortunately, Stitch was created in a lab instead of born. This means he was never a baby, but he does have some childish behaviour. Stitch will drink coffee out of a baby bottle, build sandcastles, and want his owner to read him The Ugly Duckling book. He loves his 'ohana, including his cousins. Stitch constantly demands food and drink, especially coconut cake. He likes spaceships, Elvis Presley, hugs, frogs, turtles, ducks, rodents, and being fluffy. Stitch also enjoys playing the ukulele, surfing, dancing, helping others, and spending time with his lover.

My Neighbor Totoro: Rainy Day —Aesthetic

Rainy Night

Satsuki and Mei are waiting at a bus stop for their father some time around night. When the forest spirit joins them, he holds a leaf for cover. But Big Totoro is delighted by the thumping, rhythmic sound of falling raindrops hitting their umbrella. Thus, the girls offer a spare umbrella to him. While humans use umbrellas for protection from the water, Totoro views it as a sort of toy.

Agere Ponyo: Sōsuke —Aesthetic

Sōsuke as a Baby

Before he was allowed to play in the ocean by himself, Sōsuke would have most likely been kept inside to be observed by his mother. He would watch the ocean view from their house, waiting for his dad's ship to come by. While indoors, Sōsuke would look at picture books of sealife to educate himself. At times he could go outside, he would draw pictures in the sand if his mom would take him out for a picnic on the beach.

Tree Spirits

The Totoro Tribe are a type of Kodama, which translates to Tree Spirit. Totoro, or Big Totoro, is also known as Miminzuku. He's approximately one thousand three hundred two years old, or he's more than three thousand. Totoro is remnant member of his tribe, which is at brink of extinction due to ancient battles against humanity.

Mid Totoro, or Medium Totoro, has a burglar-like bag filled with acorns. He's six hundred seventy-nine years old. Mid Totoro is a servant of Big Totoro and the partner of Mini Totoro.

Mini Totoro, or Small Totoro, is a mouse-like Totoro. He's one hundred nine years old. Mini Totoro is the partner of Mid Totoro and is one of the two servants to Big Totoro.

Agere Disney: 2002 Lilo —Aesthetic

Lilo as a Baby

Living in Hawaii, Lilo would enjoy looking at fish in an aquarium, such she's too little to go swimming in the ocean yet. Listening to elvis music would be fun for her as she enjoys a strawberry ice cream on the beach. Lilo's homemade doll, Scrump, would always be by her side. Unfortunately, she might still express naughty behavior due to a lack of sympathy and understanding from others about her strange personality.

My Neighbor Totoro: Mei Kusakabe —Aesthetic

Mei Kusakabe's Character & Personality

Mei is a four-to-five-year-old Japanese girl. Her father is Tatsuo, and her mother is Yasuko Kusakabe. Mei is also the younger sister of Satsuki. She's a happy, cheerful, single-minded, and persevering child. Like her sister, Mei is stubborn and bold. Thus, she doesn't fear the yokai goblins, the Totoros. With her initial shyness and tendency to few words, Mei seems to be more observant than her older sister. As such, the goblins open up to her because her innocent child's world hasn't been tainted by the common scene of adults yet, but this may also be due to her loneliness. Mei likes yellow flowers, acorns, food, and spirits. She dislikes being alone, yelled at, getting lost, or when her sister is mean to her. In addition, Mei enjoys playing outside, exploring, helping her mother, and being with her sister. She often runs after her sibling and imitates her. But if Mei comes across something interesting, she becomes obsessed with it and forgets the way home or time, upsetting her big sister.

Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Angel —Aesthetic

Experiment 624's Character & Personality

Angel is an illegal genetic experiment created by Jumba. She's Stitch's female counterpart and later becomes his lover. Angel can turn individuals and experiments from good to evil by singing a siren song. The effects can be reversed by chanting the song backwards. At first, Angel is extremely seductive and flirtatious towards the other experiments; except Reuben. Although she comes across as generally sweet and friendly, this is a manipulative facade. Angel's true behavior is downright nasty and sinister. Despite her ulterior motives, she eventually falls in love with Stitch and turns on the villains. Now, Angel will do anything for Lilo and Stitch, often helping them out on several occasions. Since being reformed, her sweeter side shows a lot more and she's only enamored with Stitch. Angel's extremely feminine voice has also made her an intergalactic singing sensation. Unfortunately, her demanding career requires her and Stitch to maintain a long-distance relationship.

Agere: My Neighbor Totoro's Night —Aesthetic

Summer Nights

One night, Mei and Satsuki ask to sleep by the front door at some point in the movie. Their father agrees to leave the door open and sets up a mosquito net for them. The two kids eventually wake up to find Big Totoro using his magic to grow a large tree in their front yard. Although they might think this is a dream, Mei and Satsuki later experience another magical night when the Cat Bus appears to help them deliver vegetables to their mother at the hospital.

Stitch! The Movie: Reuben —Aesthetic

Experiment 625's Character & Personality

Reuben is an illegal genetic experiment created by Jumba. He's the last failed prototype of Stitch. Reuben possesses all of Stitch's powers and is equipped with advanced lingual skills. His best friend is Gantu as his galley officer and chef, though he's more of a henchman. Though Reuben tags along with villainous plots, he doesn't really care who wins. Despite all of this, he's incredibly lazy and a coward. However, Reuben could use his powers to help save the entire galaxy. He's quite humble, friendly, and sympathetic; often making wisecracks. Reuben usually crabby toward those who disturb him. There are also times when he can be inquisitive, bitter, and lonely. More than anything, Reuben has a passion for sandwiches. He expresses thorough knowledge of sandwich crafting and history. As such, Reuben's sandwiches are quite delicious. Aside from this, he's incredibly intelligent and clever, especially when it comes to the experiments. Due to being Jumba's former assistant, Reuben has excessive knowledge of every experiment, even the ones created far before his time.

Ponyo: Ponyo & Sōsuke —Aesthetic

Ponyo & Sōsuke's Relationship

Sōsuke promises to protect Ponyo when he first rescues her. His sense of responsibility towards her is deeply caring. Due to this, Ponyo decides to become a human in order to stay with Sōsuke. She also wants to help him whenever she can with her magic. The two immediately establish a pure, innocent, and childlike connection. Over time, their relationship builds with mutual trust, care, and curiosity. Additionally, Ponyo and Sōsuke's friendship centers around unconditional acceptance, as he loves her regardless of whether she's a fish or a human. Meanwhile, she gladly leaves her family and magical abilities behind forever to be with him. In the end, Ponyo is adopted by Sōsuke's mother, making them effectively siblings/siblings-in-law, which adds a layer of familial love to their bond. While the two kids' feelings are often described by others as a "pure love," implying the two are destined to be lovers, their emotions are currently more of a childlike devotion. However, it's possible Ponyo and Sōsuke could form a romantic relationship when they're older since the two of them are soulmates. Beyond this, they both enjoy the ocean, sea life, ramen, and adventure.

Ponyo: Granmamare —Aesthetic

Queen Granmamare's Character & Personality

Granmamare is the Goddess of Mercy and Queen of the Ocean. Her husband is a sorcerer named Fujimoto. Granmamare is the mother of Ponyo and her additional two hundred daughters, approximately. She's quite a wise, understanding, soft-spoken, and benevolent being. Granmamare doesn't hate humans and often comes by to help them. Due to this, many sailors know her as a goddess upon sight when she generously restores the power to the ships strained at sea. Because the world's oceans are vast, she's often absent from her family's lives. Granmamare only appears once she senses nature is out of balance, and the world is in danger. However, she truly loves her spouse and all of her daughters equally. In fact, Granmamare immediately accepts her eldest daughter's new name and wants to grant her wish to become human. Though she recognizes the risk of the boy potentially failing the test by not truly loving Ponyo, she has hope her daughter won't turn into sea foam, and the world won't end. Granmamare even trusts Lisa to be Ponyo's guardian and trusts Sōsuke with her safety. Overall, she'll miss her child, but wishes the best for her.

Ariel's 2013 Redesign

This is how Ariel's redesigned gown should have been colored. These two colors, the pink and blue, reflect the color schemes from 1989's The Little Mermaid film. The aqua green was a disney Princess Brand color palette choice to distinguish the mermaid princess from her other royals in the lineup.
