Pilgrimage - A Sienan Escapade
March 5,2018 It was a Monday morning when i woke up and excitedly packed up my stuff, food and accessories alike, sipped my cup of coffee and traveled a fair distance. As the cool morning wind passed by through my hair, i imagined the sweet breeze of my travel into the different locations we are destined to. At first stop, we arrived at the Siena College of Quezon City. We were astounded by the different culture presented to us by the congregation of the sisters. They presented to us the relics and artifacts preserved from the old times. Rosaries, chalices and even the trahe de boda used in ceremonies were there and preserved. We were also toured inside the school premises and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery that the school offered to us. It is a perfect place for learning and the deserved compliments are beyond words. In our next destination, we arrived at the Santo Domingo Church where we were presented with a beautiful fresco. The church is big and endows a small museum that exhibits relics and artifacts. It is a solemn place for praying and contemplation. We also arrived at the University of Santo Tomas where we stopped for lunch. The school ground is enormously huge and as to be expected, it bestows grand and outstanding facilities. After our meal, we proceeded to the museum located in the main building. We were amazed by the variety of what we can see, it is truly a feast for the eye. It offers an exhibits for biology, arts, architectural templates and art gallery. It is a great opportunity for any students. Finally, we arrived at the Santa Catalina College, the oldest in Siena schools. We were presented by a small exhibit of original documents and relics. It is the home of a true Dominican student. The pilgrimage was beyond comparison and we learned so much from an 12-hour trip. I am glad that i did not waste the opportunity to learn and enjoy the places with my friends and classmates. It showed me the essence of being a Catholic student in a Siena community.
