I talk about the specifics of Ivo and Stone’s dynamic (which can be considered platonic or romantic) in my Sonic 3 review so I hope you’ll give it a read! But here are my personal thoughts/headcanons of it as a ship:
Robotnik and Stone's chemistry is through the roof! I think Ivo pushes Stone away because he's never experienced affection and doesn't recognize it -- he just interprets Stone sticking around as blind allegiance to his evil schemes. Meanwhile, I think maybe Ivo's genius is what appealed to Stone in the first place and why he signed up as a henchman, but he quickly developed feelings for the doctor and is more focused about the doctor being happy and helping him achieve his dreams than he is about world domination.

Also, when Ivo chose to sacrifice himself to save the world, he specifically calls out Stone by name! He dedicates "his final livestream" to him, which I interpret as "I'm ending this for you." And he does it in front of the ENTIRE WORLD! That's love, baby!
So I’ve been getting started on my SCU Robotnik essay finally (I’m trying to beat my procrastination problems.) and I’m currently working on writing it on docs and making sure it’s right. It will be pretty long so I don’t know if I’ll have to split it into different chapters, but hey. Only time will tell.
