Because today is shark awareness day 2021 and #sharkweek I present to you the largest fish in the world the whale shark (Rhincodon typus) it is a slow-moving, filter-feeding carpet shark and the largest known extant fish species. And yes I was lucky enough to see one in the wild! The largest confirmed individual had a length of 18.8 m (62 ft). Whale shark mouths can contain over 300 rows of tiny teeth and 20 filter pads which it uses to filter feed. Growth, longevity, and reproduction of the whale shark are poorly understood. Due to humans spend more money on flying to Mars than studying our own world and conserve/preserve it! Mars has no use for us for the next 100 years if at all. Humans Mass stupidity! Whale shark have a long period to maturity it's estimated in males at ~25 years. But before they are mostly killed and due to an endangered species! #wildlife #conservation #sharkawarenessday Taken by #DanielSasse #Scubadiving #Marinelifeprotection #natgeo #nature #uwpic #underwaterphotography #Marineconservation #underwater #ecowarrior #natgeowild #blueplanet #scubashooter https://www.instagram.com/p/CRT2ewShuxX/?utm_medium=tumblr
