Hugs wanted me to answer any that I haven't already, so I’m going to do that. I’m going to skip any number already answered, I’m just too tired to respond to all the questions again. (sorry~)
2. Whether or not they’ve ever made me cry
I want to say yes, because I’m a pretty emotional person and I tear up easily. I’m sure Year One has made me tear up on at least one occasion, and some moments from BTAS.
3. Whether or not i have any merchandise/objects with them
I really shouldn’t use this post to brag, but yeahhh I probably have more Crane Collectables than any sane person needs. I think I have a tag for it if you’re curious (#my collection) but I don’t post everything I own. I’ve bought a lot of handmade stuff and I love to support fellow artists with commissions. I also own five different handmade plushies based off his Year One Design. One thing I’ve never shown anyone is this sketchbook with Arkham Knight Crane sculpted on the cover, his glass eyes follow you when you tilt the book around. (and all of this isn’t including the many comics and figures decorating my desk)
4. What about their personality I like
This is a real simple answer, but I’m going to say his obsession with fear. Before I became a fan of Scarecrow I never cared much for horror or the macabre...and that all changed when after I started exploring his character. He made it interesting for me. I’m someone who gets obsessed with very particular things, and now horror is one of them, thanks to Jonathan Crane.
5. What about their backstory makes me emotional
Everything hahah. I remember the first time I read Year One I couldn’t stop texting @powerovernothing about how much I despised Great Granny and how much I wanted to destroy her. I have a lot of feelings when it comes to that wretched zealot, most of them involving murder fantasies.
7. The moment of theirs that made me the happiest
I don’t know if this is a good answer, but I really love the storyline Fear of Faith. While reading it I couldn’t help but agree with Scarecrow and his actions against the church, part of his is because my own sour memories but I just felt so happy reading these issues. It was refreshing to read about Crane picking apart religion.
8. Something about them that made me laugh
Lego Scarecrow always gives me a good giggle. Everything in the Lego batman Movie made me so happy, and he’s almost too cute to be scary. I can’t take him seriously because I wanna snuggle him hahah! Also that laughter of his is just infectious.
11. My favorite relationship they have with another character
I’m gonna go with Jervis for this one. He’s not really my favorite per say, but I think the dynamic between the two characters is interesting. I’ve always thought that Jervis and Jon got along really well, and the comics often put them together in strange situations. My mind always goes back to that comic panel were Jervis is sipping on Jon’s juice. Haha.
12. What i like about the way the fandom portrays them
Going to use this one to promote some of my favorite artists. I really love how the fan artists in this community aren’t afraid to make Jonathan look like a scarecrow. People like @ritzy-biscuit, @thepigeonqueen, @askarkham and @mentalrhapsody draw some of the best Cranes, like best face shapes and hair styles? I would love if they did an entire come with these as artists. They know how to draw the perfect Jonathan Crane and honestly, they are the sweetest people I’ve ever met.
13. What I don't like about the way the fandom portrays them
There’s not a lot to dislike? Everyone I’ve known seems really open to new ideas and headcannons. I’m happy Year One is loved as much as it is, and despite recent drama; I glad to know most everyone likes southern crane, accent or not. I sometimes wish the other origins were loved just as much, but hey...what can you do? -shrug-
