We’re launching a zine featuring works inspired by songs that remind us of Xavier from Love and Deepspace! We plan to curate and include a Spotify and Youtube playlist for you to experience the zine at its best!

We've already gotten some questions about our zine! Happy to answer them here! First of all, check out our carrd's FAQ page, you may find some answers already there for you ☺️ Feel free to comment or send an anonymous ask if you have any further questions!
Q. For the samples, do we need to submit LADS/Xavier-centric fics, or are we allowed to submit fics from other fandoms too? Also, can we submit excerpts of longers pieces?
A. We prefer Xavier-centric or LADS fics for your samples! We also accept non-LADS fics. You may include excerpts from longer fics but you must state this information in your application😊
Q. Hi! I'm applying as a writer, and never did zines before. Is it okay to post a fic submission in my own online archive some time after the zine's release?
A. Of course! However, we humbly ask that you include a link to the zine when you post it please and thank you! 🥺 We are also planning for an AO3 collection if you would like to include your fic that!
Q. For writers, can we submit NSFW samples? Or must they be SFW only?
A. Preferred SFW samples as this is a SFW zine! But we do accept NSFW samples too
Q) What is a pinch hitter?
A. A pinch hitter acts as a reserve member. If a contributor drops out of the zine, we would contact pinch hitters to ask if they are interested in filling in for the empty slot!
Q. Can we submit non-english songs?
A. Yes! We accept any language as long as it is available on Spotify and Youtube! We will screen the submitted songs to ensure nothing offensive is included.
Q. How many contributors will you be accepting?
A. We are planning for the song playlist to be 2hrs max and estimate about 30 songs can fit in that time frame. Based on that, we plan for 31 contributors: 20 artists, 10 writers and 1 cover artist. Also the 3 mods will be joining in (because we love Xavier too!) Therefore, the actual total contributors on board will be 34!
Q. Is there a possibility this could be a paid thing?
A. Nope, we decided this will be a free zine as this is the Mods first time hosting a zine! We'd like to take it easy for now. But if there's interest for future zines then we'll consider it!
Q. Are soundtracks/ost allowed?
A. Yes! As long as its on Spotify and Youtube. But we will not accept LADS OST!
Q. If multiple song suggestions have been submitted in the form or if we have more ideas, can we discuss before finalising which song to draw for?
A. In all cases we will be assigning a song from those that you entered in the form, and that is the one your work should be based on / inspired by! Unfortunately there won't be any discussions about more songs at the moment
Q. May I ask if the writers section is only for fanfic/AUs and not like poem or poetry for Xavier?
A. We have a preference for fanfics but we would absolutely love to see poetry for samples as well! We also welcome poetry in the zine from any writers that will be accepted on to our zine project!
Q. Can I change my song choices if I am accepted as a contributor?
A. Nope! We choose contributors based on their applications and therefore we cannot accept any song changes once contributors are accepted onto the project!
Q. Is Xavier x Li allowed?
A. Sorry nope! The main focus of this zine is Xavier in addition to the song that was chosen that reminds you of him. XavierMC is a secondary focus of the zine as they are a canon relationship in the game. Hope this helps!
