Yet another frigid night where Levi ran out of his home as though Death were at his very heels.
Thankfully though, the urge to run has subsided immensely, and it was content to roll around in circles in that dark pit of his brain. The only proof of it was his well-worn jacket hanging haphazardly off his shoulders and that his feet were painfully cold and burning. No mentioning of how he is readying to hack out some internal organs, but damn it, his feet were cold!
All because of ‘I-gotta-run-now-or-I-die’, Levi forgot to grab his socks, so his sweat-drenched feet - that were swimming in these much too big boots that weren’t even his - were freezing over and felt as though he were dancing on knives.
Other than feeling sympathetic to the Little Mermaid, his vision was much too blurry to make out wherever the hell he ran off to.
While the man couldn’t exactly say where he was, the ‘internal-house-locator-thingy’ in his head placed him a good thirty minutes from his home on foot. Still very much in Reveille, so no fear in being arrested by local authorites for some nonsensical law that nobody knows and only use it when they want to screw around with some poor confused and utterly innocent sap.
The buildings looked vaguely to be dorms; however, this being the best guess he could pick from his spotty vision. For all Levi knew, he could be in some child’s toybox, and looking at very dull fuzzy blocks that glowed lime green.
In all honesty, Levi was either at a cult’s compound or at one of the universities in the city. He hoped for the latter for one too many reasons that involved an existential crisis then followed by curling up into a ball.
Since he’d only go anywhere near the former is by threat of death, the university was very well-lite! It kept the walkways completely visible and reasonably comfortable in its glow that put the exhausted man at ease.
Genuine excitement spread through Levi’s core because that only meant that this was Latowidge University. Several years back during the Complicated period of his life, he repeatedly read an article that was taped to the wall about the school’s Science wing.Towards the end, they were in the beginning stages of having their lights replaced to something that eliminated unnecessary light exposure towards the ‘heavens’.
Though Levi hasn’t made it to this side of the city, he hopes that they achieved to have converted that side of the city towards this kind of lighting. On his side, it was an abundance of light that were irritating for anyone that suffered from migraines. Maybe he should send a complaint…?
Its sickening that his knowledge on the topic was lacking as it was- he blames the Complicated years, so being here now meant that Levi must absolutely make up for missed time!
Normally, it would mean hitting the books, but to miss this perfect opportunity where the night’s air is so crisp and clear would be a cardinal sin to pass up!
Levi heard in passing that the ideal spots for stargazing were located throughout this very campus, so why would he look up now when he could get the best possible view after a bit of exploration!
Sliding on a pair of gloves Levi stashed in his coat’s pocket, he decided that finding the highest viewing point would be the right fix to his current state.
Now to find some stairs or stuctures that can be easily climbed without harming himself. Abiding the law was optional.
