Angsty love confession - Tadashi (1/10)
It has been too long now. A lingering contact on your hand. His eyes locked on yours for seconds that feel like minutes, or hours sometimes. A discreet smile, that seems special, unique, reserved for you. Confessions of worries, of sadness, of joy too. But never the one you expect. The one that, unfairly, seems to slip away, again and again. But you don't know why. You can't guess. You're just lost.
You've thought about making the first step, but he always seems so busy. Everytime you are just the two of you, especially lately, he always bring serious and boring subjects ; school, homework, work... and even those meetings seem to get rarer. He is busy ; teaching, organizing, avoiding you maybe. That's why you don't dare. You're afraid of losing the last strings of your relationship.
For how long is this supposed to last ? For how long can you hold your breath with those heavy thoughts weighting on you, bringing you down, and down, and down, leading you, now and then, to your room or the toilets to cry your frustration and your doubts out ?
/ding/
Your phone.
A message. From him.
"I have something to ask you about the next event. Auditorium."
You feel sick. What does this mean ? What tone is that ? Can't he take the time to say please, to make proper sentences ? Yet your feet move. You want to see him. You want this lingering gaze, touch, to get close enough to be able to hug him if you dared to.
The auditorium is empty, except for Tadashi on the stage. He comes back and forth, observes the empty seats, sighs. And smiles slightly when he sees you.
Everything disappears. You go to him. You have this foolish, foolish hope, again. That you're special. That he smiled like this because it was you.
- Do you think we should let the professors or the nominated students sit in the first row ?
And everything is gone. He could have asked that to anyone. Anyone. That's too much. Not this time. Not again.
You turn your back to him, ready to leave. But he has noticed the tears already. He calls your name, but you don't stop walking. Your don't hear him running ; you just see him blocking your path, right in front of the door.
- Did anything happen ?
Don't pretend to be naive now.
- Don't pretend to be naive now.
Don't pretend you have nothing to do with that.
- Don't pretend you have nothing to do with that.
You can't stop your mouth from formulating your unfiltered, dangerous thoughts.
- Next time just call someone else. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore.
Your own voice betrays you, cracking, yet still going.
- I don't want to see you again. I don't want to talk to you. I don't want to love you anymore.
Your voice dies.
Nothing moves.
It's the end, right ?
You did it.
You told him, crying, angry, sad and exhausted, that you loved him. You're just waiting for him to move aside.
He suddenly pulls you close. His arms are around you, locked behind your back. You cannot move, just hear his hectic breathing and feels his body quivering.
- Please. Please. Don't ever say that again.
He lets go of you, just enough to look right at you.
- Don't tell me to go away.
He breathes in.
- I love you too. I need you.
That's when your legs give up. You lay gently down, Tadashi slowing down your fall. You're still crying, but this time because an enormous wave of relief is hitting you. Because he sits in front of you, and repeats that he loves you. That he was looking for occasions to see you, using any excuse. That, yes, he spent more time working in his room because he spent classes not listening but imagining how to tell you all of this.
He kisses your hands, holding them tightly, then helps you to stand up. He brings you to your room, but does not leave. You stay a long moment together, alternating silences and deep conversations, until you fall, first, exhausted. The last thing you hear is his own, strangled sobbing : "I'm an idiot for making you suffer. I promise to never risk losing you again".
Anonymous confessed: “I'm genuinely tired of how Dulcet's writers are managing the games, they seem to be unable to deal with their own responsibilities and blame it on coding and/or page errors. Coders even had to erase the “Next Chapter coming on” feature because the staff keeps delaying everything without even informing the players beforehand just as they did with Chapter 12 TWICE. And somehow, as a player, you're not even allowed to express your frustration in the Discord server because the mods will come at you and always excuse the lack of accountability with “well, they're a small vn developer” or “go play something else”. I'm quite worried about the future of Dulcet from now on.”
Anonymous confessed: “I really hope the writers don't force Karolina down the throats of the people who choose to not forgive her and have negative relationship with her (like me). I just can't deal with characters like her even with her whole sorry conversation. I simply can't. I don't do well with characters and people who want to make other's life's miserable because theirs is.”
Anonymous confessed: "Can I hop on the confession train and talk about something I've been thinking about? I've noticed that the devs have gradually been shifting to Discord and now I feel like with the server getting all of their attention, they aren't paying as much attention to their other social media, or we don't always get the same amount of information. For example, you can't exactly get mad at people for being insensitive since Serena had a mental breakdown when there was no way for them to know that, all they saw was the devs take a break to prepare more chapters, then delay a chapter twice without explanations and the second time without warning; I'm not saying Serena should divulge her medical information over social media, absolutely not, but since she only told the Discord it's a bit unfair to expect everybody to know that. Spoilers are also discord exclusive and so is the Black Tarot beta, and the devs engage a lot in there and even answer questions from fans, when on Tumblr we aren't even having special events like the Q&As with the characters anymore. I'm saying this as a Discord member myself, I feel like we've been getting all sorts of privileges compared to other social media when not everyone can even BE on Discord, and we can't even say it wasn't on purpose because the devs have expressed their distaste for Tumblr and the will to move the community on Discord on the server itself, but where the community is shouldn't be their choice, it should be the community's, so they should treat all the fandom fairly and not give more stuff to Discord just because they like it better. When you are a company you can't just have a favorite part of your community that you give more stuff too, of course then some players are going to feel less important."
Anonymous confessed: "I’m not really mad that Chapter 12 has been delayed because things can happen, but I think that Dulcet Games should set more realistic goals for themselves. Don’t quote me on this because I don’t remember the exact release dates of the chapters but ever since they started releasing one chapter a month, they were only able to meet the deadline once and every other chapter has been delayed, with Chapter 12 being the worst case. I think the previous release schedule worked just fine, so if they can’t meet the one month deadline because they have other games to work on or they have other circumstances, I think it would be better to go back to releasing a chapter every two months. They are still a small company so imo they shouldn’t try to put themselves on the same level of big companies like Beemoov when they don’t have the resources yet and set realistic deadlines that they know they can meet, not deadlines that they hope they can meet and then delay things every time, because of course then players are gonna get a bit tired, never knowing when chapters are going to be released for sure.“
Anonymous confessed: “I agree with the other anon about how the games are being managed. Most of us came to Dulcet Games for Sweet Elite and now the game is being delayed again and again. I would have liked to see them get Sweet Elite on a schedule and up to the level it needed to be before they started trying to pump out more games. I'm glad they're being ambitious and all but d*mn. The reason I'm still here after so many years was for Sweet Elite and now it's like everything BUT Sweet Elite is what's getting done.”
Anonymous confessed: "You can tell that the writers' favorites are respectively Tadashi and Axel because their routes are written soooo much better than others. I'm not saying the others are bad but those two LIs get more romantic moments and personally I feel like they are a lil bit better. For example, Axel gets a jealousy scene when Tadashi and Scholar have their scandal but the other LIs don't, and he also gets another one when he's with Neha (Chapter 6 I think??) and playing through his route after admitting to having a crush on him has been so much fun because Scholar mentions their feelings every once in a while, more than with other LIs. I was looking forward to the jealousy scene after the pic with Tadashi and I was kind of bummed that other LIs don't get anything at all... I do like the moments we get and I'm not very good at explaining myself but I noticed some other people point this out from time to time too, and I have to say if you compare them, Tadashi's and Axel's routes have more effort put into them than, say... Ellie's and Claire's."
